Had to go to a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) outreach meeting
last night.  Well, we can add yet another minority group to the mix.





Sub-continent Asian Americans.  I shit you not.  People from Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Philippine Islands, Vietnam, etc... are their own minority group now.



This shit has gone from ridiculous to flat out of control.



It is getting to the point that to even put in a competitive bid on any public works project I can't even think about a profit margin.  Not when DBE contractors get up to a 10% advantage during bid evaluation.

Just do what people around here do.

Help one start a business. Help him with the bids.

Then when he wins, he subcontracts to you.

At the local college, a brick job was won by a minority business owner.

Not one brick was layed by a black person. Everyone working was white. The only minority on the whole project as the business "owner".

Unbelievable. Is that for Federal or State bids?

This was for a project involving local, state and federal funds.
