After reading Gun Confiscation in Massachusetts. I've researched the laws in those three States. They're worse than Puerto Rico. Yup, Puerto Rico.... the economic parasite that everyone thinks is a foreign country or wants to be a foreign country.

In PR, their laws aren't perfect. But they have no magazine capacity ban. No crazy storage laws. No hardcore crazy requirement to get a permit to own, etc.... their Carry Laws suck. But hell; at least in PR a common person can own a AR-15, 30rd Pmags, a Glock 19, and 15rd mags for it too. They can keep it in their closet unsecured and ready to go.

Seriously.... America's colonies have better laws than some of our States.

The fact that some of the most Draconian gun laws exist in in some the original thirteen states blows my mind.  This shit started over government over reach.

There was a saying, the further you go the more you want to come back or some shit.

It blows my mind, but the snowflakes don't know what they had to fight for.

I have more guns laying around than some gun shops I've been to. Fuck those laws and those who enforce them.

I'll take the asinine gun laws of where I live over the level of corruption I  saw when I squandered some of my life away in the USVI.

Living in PR will be easier because you were/are a police officer.

@MiamiJBT has the lawyer/bribe/pay to play permit system gotten shut down after it got attention?

Why'd you have to bring California into this thread?

Doesn't Puerto Rico have permitless carry right now?

As I recall their discretionary carry permit system was declared invalid by a court and it was never replaced.

I looked into and and it got switched back. Business as usual.

So expand on their carry  laws, I'm curious.

Don't like it, vote people in that will change it. Here in VT we elect some retarded people, but they would be out in a second if they messed with guns- and they know it. In the end, its up to the voters.

Yes and No. The Higher Court ruled in favor of the government so May Issue CCW is back. But they've had a 56% increase in applications for permits. The people tot a taste of being able to carry guns when they had Constitutional Carry for about a year and they want more of it.

The PR Government applied it to a higher court. In Nov 2016 the court ruled in favor of the Government and PR is back to May Issue CCW.

That's because gun ownership is part of the culture in VT. In MA, NY, and NJ; it has been outbred of the people over the generations.

I wish some conservatism would take hold there. A decent number of the people are socially conservative as is. Economics and personal freedom need to come next.

True. But if people don't like it they can move. Not ideal, but not much other choice if the voters don't want change. I might be moving out of this state due to the insane property taxes (3rd highest in the nation?). Voters here like their guns, but also like their socialism.

Or hope that SCOTUS enforces the 2nd against these states. But I bet they would refuse to hear any such case.

It is slowly changing. Mrs. Miami_JBT is very much like me. Her parents and grandparents were very much FDR/LBJ Socialist Democrats. The younger generation has seen the failure that is socialist economic policy and are tired of it. They're all fleeing to the mainland and many want to return to start businesses because of the economic downturn and they see opportunity there.

As the Baby Boomers die off. PR will change.

Edit to add... it is also why they elected a Republican into the Governor's seat in PR. Old folks are dying off.

Well, every adult member of my direct family has an unrestricted license to carry in MA. This from 3 different towns.
Our laws suck, but bitching about is isn't going to change them.

If there were bigger unions in PR then they'd attract the democrats and they'd start selling legislation.

Simply follow the money. Those states that do big business have big democrat majorities as they've sold victim status to their voters.

The Democrats want to keep Puerto Rico as a Territory. The Independents in PR are less then 3% of the population. Over 50% of Puerto Ricans want PR to be a State. The Republicans support Statehood.

1/8 of the population are gun owners.....most private clubs have waiting lists, the ones with open memberships have full meetings every month....there are a lot of FUDDs, but the conservative estimate is that there about a Million Gun Owners in the state, population a touch over 8 million now.

Harvard used to be a school for priests - anywhere, anyplace once cancer gets hold it's a hard fight. Prevent cancer by avoiding things that cause cancer. Liberals cause cancer, they rot and destroy everything they touch and the leadership does this on purpose.

Live in a shitty state do what I did - MOVE, just take the pay cut and move - don't be david be kunta kinte. The fight for the anti gun states will have to be done with lawyers and money but if your still paying into a ban states tax system your paying both lawyers.

you only get one life, we don't know how long we get - live it freely.

I still wouldn't take all those guns to PR.

Kinda unfair to compare NY to PR since all the Puerto Ricans are in Ny.

That's the problem..... most gun owners don't give a shit as long as they got what they want.

Look..... when PR has better gun laws than the place that started the War for Independence because their guns were going to be taken away. That says something.

But seriously.... from the MA thread I got an idea for my NRA campaign.
