After the first one I just can't get excited about it.
Sure, Middle Earth is a fantasy land, but the visual effects and action sequences of the last movie were so far over the top that I was unable to get into it. Also, Jackson seems to be taking more liberties. I'm going to read a book. |
I didn't appreciate how much CGI there was in it, or at least, I didn't appreciate how cartoony the CGI looked
But then again, I could be out of my fucking mind. I still loved the movie |
I'll be seeing it. This time, I hope to catch it in the theaters before it makes it onto Red Box.
turned off the first one after 40 min. so I think I will skip #2
No idea what you're talking about. They all were great and I'll see this one too.
Really depends on my mood this weekend. No one else seems to be interested in it.

i liked the hobbit a lot and look forward to seeing part 2.
Jackson went full shit eating smegma snorting retard with the first one. I'll be damned if I watch the second.
Peter Jackson's movies fucking suck period. No I will not be seeing it.
I'm watching the Rankin/Bass animated one right now.
I don't see any reason it should be longer than that. |
my daughter wants to see it. the first one was such a shit fest I don't want to go.
seriously how do you fuck up a book as awesome as the hobbit? |
Didn't see the first and not planning on this one either.
I'd rather have Dredd 2 |
Still have to see the first one.
I will get into them when out on DVD. |
I'll see it, god help me.
And in an exact reversal of my view on LOTR, I'll again wish it was half as long. |
I'm with you Brohawk.
I really liked the LOTR movies and I was hoping that Jackson would take a similar approach with "The Hobbit". I know, I know, "The Hobbit" was a different book, one aimed at a younger reader. But I had hoped that Jackson would "upgrade" the movie version....well, everyone who saw it knows what happened....he didn't. Instead, Jackson went in the opposite direction and dumbed the movie version down even below the level of the original book. I was really disappointed. I have no desire at all to sit through any more, never mind TWO MORE "Hobbit" movies......gag me. No mas. |
I am done with Hollyweird.
I don't watch movies and I don't watch TV. It turns out that there are some pretty cool things to do outside! |
I'm absolutely, positively NOT seeing it.
Friday night. Probably Saturday morning |
I'll wait to rent it for $1.50 from redbox. Part 1 was entertaining I guess, but it was mostly a joke filled with utterly unrealistic action and CGI. They're also stretching the hell out of the story to make a 250 page book into 3 movies.

rental. View Quote The first one was disappointing after the Ring Trilogy movies, too juvenille and I loved the book. I was looking forward to the dwarves, and they are more like the Snow White dwarves than The Hobbit dwarves. The Goblin King was just rediculous. Now they're adding a special PC female character to please the whining lesbians. Way to take a great series and put the George Lucas treatment to it. |
Not going. I just don't go to movie theatres anymore. At some point, my youngest son will buy the dvd and bring it over for us to watch. As usual, I'll drink bourbon and get bored by this type of fantasy flick.
I am still not planning on seeing the first Jackson Hobbit.

Unfortunately we just spent $60 to take the kids see it in IMAX 3D. I'm not amused but will grit and bear it.
Yes, you are the only one not seeing it.
And really, nobody cares about your reasons. Different people like different shit. Just accept that it's not for you and move on. You don't need to share. |
I saw it the first time when it was lord of the rings
It seems to be the only movie jackson can make.
I probably will, it's an excuse to drink in a theater and be obnoxious.

I haven't seen the first one, and not sure I want. Peter Jackson lives in his own world, and I don't share his view of Middle Earth. After the hack job he did to the Trilogy, I just don't know. |
