Is there any way to clean up the AR15 area?

Of the 24 possible threads to view, 12 are tacked on the first page. Most have dead links and are really old. I mean a moderators own thread about his rifle is tacked for gods sake. Why? WHo really knows.

It really is ridiculous.

Yeah, must be nice to be a mod and tack your own thread of your own stuff.

I agree some of the tacked threds at a minimum need to be moved.

6.8mm SPC FAQ & Load Data Part II could be moved into the AR Variants forum for starters.

Acronyms and Abbreviations in common use on AR15.com shoudl be in the GD. it's not all AR specific acronyms.

M4gery Pic Thread Pt. 2 seems kind of redundant when the Official AR15.com Picture Thread Pt. 9 is right under it. Doe the pictures threads really need to be broken down that far? How about M4 with all MagPul parts? Or A dissipator picture thread? Come on.

For ALL Army, Reserve, and Guard M16 Shooters thread? Hall of Heroes and/or Competition Shooting & the Accurate AR.

Colt's USGI M16 series variation guide edition II.. here's a no brainer. Uh, the COLT forum?

I'm probably wasting my breath since nobody ever looks in these frickin threads anyway...

Have you sent an IM to the mods asking for a tack? (Hawkeye, new-arguy)?

Would it be more appropriate in the armory | general firearm discussion tacked? It isn't specifically/entirely AR-15 related.

They already moved some into rifles/uppers/etc and tacked them. I don't know what is there and tacked shouldn't be.

This would be something to IM one of the mods of that forum about.

I was joking, I dont want my thread tacked.

But it is lame that a moderators thread about his rifle is tacked.

For this, I would IM Troy, Sweep, or LordTrader, they are the staff for that section.

I never received any IM's from anyone so I did not know there was a concern. I have untacked some threads, but added links to them in the "Important info" thread that is tacked. Any of you can feel free to IM me if you have concerns like this. I dont bite. Often.

Been trying to clean up the AR section. A few months ago I moved about 4 threads to other forums and tacked them there. Yes, I have the ability to move threads to other forums, but I cant tac them there unless I am a mod in that section.

Had you actually read the thread about my new rifle, you would have seen that I was not the one who tacked it. Yeah, yeah, I know, no one actually "reads" the tacked threads. I should not expect you to have known that, or blame you for jumping to the conclusion that I tacked it myself. I'll be glad to untack it.

Tacked threads are a problem in almost all of high traffic forums. There's a lot of people asking to have threads tacked. Almost everyone of them I have tacked came at the request of more than one person by IM or in the thread itself. If I ignore them and dont tack them, they are mad. If I leave them tacked, other people get mad for tacking too many. Either way, someones always got something to say about it.

Had you made mention of this sort of thing at a EAG class, someone would have surely handed you a bottle a Vagisil!!!

IMHO this thread has served its purpose.... the mods have started making some changes. The guy who started the threads knows what to do to possibly have more changes made...

At this point this seems to be getting way off track.

(I only make these points because it continues to pop up to the top of MAT's)
