I want to make a map of where I hunt with a 100 yard grid overlay to help determine target ranges. Is there an easy way to do this?

I just used BING this morning to map out property for the same reason. Looking at Google Earth it seems much easier to do it that way .

If you can print up a pic of the area that you hunt, you could then keep the perspective the same and move google to a shot of you local range and print a pic of the 100 yard range. That will give you correct scale for your hunting area.

Those grids that were linked looked like they only mark lat/long.

Meters close enough?

http://www.gelib.com/worldwide-utm-grid.htm

Download the overlay, and you should have 1km and 0.1km (100m) UTM gridlines everywhere. You can turn them off on the left hand side of the screen under "Places".

I know it can be done: guys in the TOC will say "I looked on google earth...I think they're hiding here, grid to follow...".

on "other" GE servers we get options that aren't available on civvie GE.....

lots of options

OP - are you looking to do a range card? it may be easier to screen shot your AO - put it in a PPT file then keeping GE open map out ranges from your stand to features you can recognize both on the map and on the ground

also, if you'd like help with this PM me the location and where you'd like ranges to and I can probably kick out a range card for you pretty quick
