I used the term humankind in my poll thread on whether humankind would continue to progress or not. link

Someone said terms like humankind were why we would stagnate.
Is humankind too PC or something?
I know it is standing in for "mankind" but seriously, a bunch of men are not going to last too many generations.
We need women.  I’m inclusive, I live with a woman.

Fine, screw both.  Use "Earthlings" or "Terrans".

The anti-PC-police are becoming as whiny and sniveling as the PC-police.

Yes, they are pretty rabid sometimes.

I didn't mean to count him.

How about mankind, womenkind and gay-lesbian-and-transgendered-kind, or chimpnazee-kind?

Just use "People."

Worked for our forefathers.

We the people, ya know?

I was hoping for one term that meant "collectively all humans on Earth".  I thought humankind was simplest.

Only if we stop coddling the weak, incompetent and incapable promoting a system of survival of the unfittest.

I go with the term "humanity" if its a context where Mankind might offend someone. Humankind is too unwieldy.

That's good, I will probably use 'humanity' next time it comes up.

I wonder if that one offends the anti-PC police.

I dunno, the word makes me think of recylcing and baby seals and rainforests and holding hands while singing Kumbaya.  And that all makes me think of hippies.  And that makes me want to kick a few.
