Conversation at work the other day and a guy pointed out that the second amendment was like 300 years old and thus obsolete...etc.
. What are the odds they will go after the first amendment as soon as they finish with second? |
Almost none.
Say whatever you want (or whatever you dare, given the efficient and ever expanding surveillance infrastructure). That's no threat. |
They have already started. Micro aggressions, safe spaces, if you watch you can see it happening. And the millennials are doing it to themselves.
Matt Drudge has gone on record of being told privately be a supreme court justice (he won't divulge which one) that this is in fact the case.
Once the Second falls, the First will be next. No doubt about it.
They're already well on the way to neutering the First too. You can't really speak freely except in private and even then you had better be careful who you talk to and what you say.
Sure.
The fourth and fifth aren't doing so well either. The 10th and 16th are being subverted and abused like a rented step child with red hair as well. |
That US Constitution was written by mean, racist, sexist, white men! It states that blacks are 3/5ths of a person!
Yes this is what is being taught in our schools. Don’t bother to read the Constitution just believe what your taught. |
As much as the Second Amendment protects the First Amendment, the First protects the Second - so they'll go after both simultaneously.
Look at the campaign finance regulations from the past which proposed a giant bureaucracy for each donation an advocacy organization received - that would cripple grassroots organizations that get most of their donations in $20 amounts; but wouldn't even slow down astro-turfed groups funded by a single billionaire. They are already attacking the right of people to form together in groups and advocate for political causes. Several speakers during "campaign finance reform" legislation have made it clear that the NRA was a major target. Why? Because us being able to get together and speak out against their gun grabs has been THE major obstacle to their plans. Now we see this idea being promoted that the right to free speech means a right not to be offended - which is simply Orwellian reversal of the entire idea of free speech. Free speech means having to put up with all kinds of offensive and divisive speech. |
Liberal scum believe the second amendment exclusively give the government the right to arm itself. It is in no way intended for the common individual to defend himself from criminal assault or government sponsored oppression.
They will take a similar tactic on the first amendment. It is "intended" to allow the government to speak about the best interests of the government. It is in no intended to allow the common individual the right to express himself. See? Even in my answer, I have openly displayed gender and gender-identity prejudice, thus proving the need for government regulated speech. |
Let's face it, the Constitution is an old outdated document. We don't follow it now anyway, who here believes we do? We turned down this road several decades ago, and there's no turning back now. All any of us can do is buckle up for the train wreck that's coming!!!!

They may get triggered, but Ima say what I want.

Well the 1st Amendment doesn't cover telephone, tv, internet, or any other form of digital or boradcast media. That is if you apply the same logic as the anti-2A crowd does.
I'm a firm believer they don't have an order. They just chip away at each one equally. My $.02

Yes. Socialism/Communism rarely differ in their historical application and pathway. The ultimate result is the same too...lots of people who used to live above ground find themselves not living and in the ground.
It's funny too. Everyone envisions that it is someone else that perishes. Keep in mind, objects in mirror are closer than they appear...and they might be you. |

If those students are so offended then leave the USA. |

Not next, but it's coming and they're laying the groundwork for it already.
They need to keep it around for a while so they can use it to effect their other agendas through their useful idiot tools first. When they are done with the useful idiots, they will be abandoned and the 1A, now no longer needed, can be scrapped. |
Next? Being full bore vs the 1A for a while now. Don't believe it? Go publicly criticize gay or black people.

The killing of the 1A started decades ago under Bubba. It was called PC.

Naw, you just need to fill out the proper applications and pay a small filing fee to be considered for approval http://godfatherpolitics.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/free-speech-zone.jpg View Quote It's just common sense speech restrictions. Without some kind of regulation we'll have people yelling FIRE in crowded movie theaters. Nobody wants that, right? |

1st amendment has always been under attack...it's just not as fast moving as the 2nd ammendment talk.
You can't even say certain words to people because they decided it hurt their feels. |

The founders never envisoned the internet and technological advances which would allow people to share their thoughts so freely
Same as with guns, they never envisioned scary black assault rifles that shoot 10,000 rounds per minute with banana clips and shoulder things that go up |

Ask the Christian bakers how the free exercise of their religion went.
Citizens United was about government control and censorship of speech, if that is overturned there is no 1st amendment protection of political speech. |

If you have young children, the probability of them "living" under the yoke of socialism is almost a certainty now. Sorry.

Fourth amendment protects against unreasonable search and seizure. If they gut the second, all those doors kicked in and confiscations will be deemed by the courts to be perfectly reasonable, no? |
Why do people other than those in the military, police, and in positions of power NEED to say hurtful, mean, or controversial things? I mean think of the children. You people haven't even been trained in using speech like that. It's just common sense to regulate speech, right?

What do you mean "next?"
The First Amendment has been under assault even longer than the Second. |

First Amendment is already dead. All they have to say is "National Security" or "RACISSSST!!!" and poof!

If the government wants to use your property to quarter soldiers (or for any other reason), they'll just seize it through eminent domain. Fuck you very much. |

Have none of you noticed, they are fervently attacking it right now?
Net neutrality, triggers, micro aggressons, PC bullshit, reporters fired for bad-mouthing the wookie, It's building a fuckton of steam all underthe guise of controlling hate speech. |
