03 Kia Backed into by truck going MAYBE 5 MPH

Apparent damage is to trunk lid and rear turn signals....very minimal

They want 5 days and $2,300 to fix it!!!!!

The car is worth maybe 5 thousand total!

WTF!

Am I completely off base, or is this a standard practice?

it usually isn't just the obvious damage, it's the hidden damage...unibody cars are meant to absorb an impact and creating damage along the way....not to mention the cost of parts, paint, and labor add up quick.....

Get several quotes as well as the Kelly Blue Book value on the KIA.

If all the quotes average 50% of the car's value, push the insurance company to salvage your vehicle and replace it.

Buy a new KIA.
