Seriously, is Virginia really going to Obama this election?

I feel like I'm stuck in the twilight zone.

Someone from VA tell me what the hell is going on?

From Wiki:

Similar voter behavior was noted in the 1989 race for Governor of Virginia between Democrat L. Douglas Wilder, an African-American, and Republican Marshall Coleman, a white candidate. In that race, Wilder prevailed, but by less than half of one percent, when pre-election poll numbers showed him on average with 9 percent lead. The discrepancy was attributed to white voters telling pollsters that they were undecided when they actually voted for Marshall Coleman.

After the 1989 Virginia gubernatorial election, the "Bradley effect" was sometimes called the "Wilder effect". Both terms are still used; and less commonly, the term "Dinkins effect" is also used.

Virginia's urban centers are expected to go heavily for Obama. That's how Webb won over Allen in the 2006 election.

The race is close in Virginia...within the margin of error in the polls. The same polls had Webb ahead by a significant amount before the election, but he only won by 10,000 votes.
Rural voters are going Obama too.  I was making calls to Patrick county the other night. I made 220 calls.  More than half said they were voting Obama.

Hope and Change........

Instead of moving to an area with a better job market they just sit at home and sulk about not having a good job and blame Republicans for "shipping their jobs over seas".

Well, SHIT.

Sorry for the language, but WOW.

Can't the Southern part of the state overcome the northern suburban area through high voter turn out?

So what's the percentage of undecided voters in VA?

Seriously, can't even believe we're talking about this.

Southern VA has a high minority population.  Many social conservatives are there (pro-life, family values, hunters and church goers).   However they have been hurt economically because the textile and furniture industry moved out of the country.  Danville. VA has a 14% unemployment rate.

Even the sparsely populated eastern shore on the Delmarva is heavy Obama.

McCain strong holds are the Shenandoah Valley, Central Virginia (outside of PRK of Charlottesville), areas along the spine of the Blue Ridge, Lynchburg and probably the Tidewater where the pro-military folks are.

NOVA will. Too many transplanted "Naw Yawkers" and others.

Rural voters. I don't think so, not in any areas I travel. Yard signs and bumper stickers run 4 to 1 (I know that's not "Scientific")

It will be close since the rural areas have to compensate for all the latte sippers in the urban areas.

Another thing. If Osama is doing so well why is he or dumb ass Biden coming here every other day????????? If it was in the bag they would be concentrating resources in other places...........

It sucks they they even are campaigning here.  I wish Biden had to be sent out to work Washington and Oregon instead.
