I think getting a .22 for Christmas would be the best gift ever.  I hope one day I have a son, so I could start him out early on guns.  I didn't get my fist .22 until I was 19.

I got my first firearm (a Marlin bolt-action .22 sold by Montgomery Wards) for my 8th birthday.  That was far and away the most memorable Christmas I had as a kid.

My 8 yo already has a .410, .22, and .243. He got some camo overalls this year. We are going to kill his first deer this next week during the time off . Plenty of does and small bucks in our hunting places, shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I'll post the first kill "blood" photos for some to ridicule

When I was 15 or 16 I got a Benelli M1 S90 Tactical for x-mas.  It's truly an amazing firearm.

I WISH

The best chance of me getting anything gun related for Christmas is if I buy it myself

We got the 14 year old a 12 gauge.  He finished hunter safety this spring and got a .22 for Easter. Since we're in Iowa a good pump 12 gauge and a .22 cover pretty much every hunting season!

Not this year.  My 11 year old daughter already has a heavy barrel 10-22T with Leupold and a Winchester 1300 20 gauge Youth Model.

Santa bought me two Stag lower receivers, but I had to go fill out the DROS myself.  I also had to pay for the lowers myself, because Santa was a little strapped for cash.  It's ok though, because it's the thought that counts.

Also, Santa forgot to pack the lowers onto his sleigh so I won't actually get the lowers until sometime around January 7th or so.

I got my daughter a .22 Davey Crickett rifle with a pink stock for Christmas. It's not from Santa. It's from me. Don't know how this is going to go over with the Mrs. I wanted to tell her but it just never seemed like the right time. Now it's too late.

The .22 rifle I bought for my daughter did not go over too well with the wife. I had it wrapped up and she asked me what it was. When I told her she said I didn't discuss it with her and she didn't think it was a good idea to give it to her. I did discuss it with her previously and she said no. I thought it was a great present. She has enough Barbies and Bratz crap that she doesn't play with. I haven't given it to my daughter yet because I didn't want a big fight on Christmas. I'll keep a hold of it and give it some time since she's only 7 years old.
