DAY 6

I heard that Zero was disinvited from campaigning in WeeVee.  Seething about shutting down the coal mines made him less popular.  Those ingrates wanted change and they don't like the change he gave them.

6 days??
When Ike came through Texas , we were without power 3 weeks. Without gas and groceries for a month. It pays to be prepared

He'd just tax them for not buying enough solar panels to serve their needs.

It's part of some weird phenomenon......

I've been noticing that the news has trouble reporting on basic things they used to cover extensively during the early part of this century.

For example:

Gas prices.

Homeless people.

Casualties in Afghanistan.

Presidential Administration blunders/fuck ups

The status of Guantanamo Bay.

I noticed it started around Jan 20, 2009.

I haven't drawn any firm conclusions yet, but two letters seem to crop up when you study what events are reported on and what aren't.  When there is a (R) around, these sort of stories pop up frequently.  Somehow the letter (D) has a magical ability to make all of these negative news stories disappear.

I can't imagine why.

74novaman, I've noticed the same strange phenomenon, too.

It's something like Day 1270+ for the president to not address or help the victims of the great southern Ice Storm.

Pretty certain any president with an (R) next to his name would be berated for not flying down south to personally deliver heating oil and chop down trees.

The media also strangely dropped the use of the term "McJobs" or burger-flipping jobs, too. And oddly, the magical 2000 casualty number that the media vultures circled around and salivated over is somehow not magical anymore. And what happened to the Faces of the Fallen that outlets like the Washington Post used to print to "honor" our war dead?

The UMW supported him and most coal mines do as the union says.

Yep.  He created global warming which caused this storm and all that.

Can anyone imagine what a huge issue Haiti would be if Bush was still in?

Yep.

He inherited this "electricity infrastructure problem": The previous administration failed to spend sufficient amounts of "funding" on "shovel-ready" jobs that would have "improved the integrity of our crumbling electrical grid".

Nope. This is a complete and utter failure of private industry. Power companies were caught completely unprepared for large scale outages and had no plans to provide for consumer. Millions suffer while corporations profit. A perfect example of the horror that can occur when government is too far removed from the system.
