Long story short, in 2000 Miers donated about $400 bucks to her law firm's PAC .   The next day the PAC donated $1000 to HILLARY CLINTON's senate campaign.

No wonder the democrats have a hard on for her.

What is going on here?

Well,  George Bush says he KNOWS her and that we won't be disappointed.

I seem to recall a time that he KNEW that Campaign Finance Reform would be overturned.

I am not sure I trust his legal judgement

Well she has worked closely with GW Bush for years and he has personally vouched for her...it's too bad he is so out of touch with his base that we don't believe him any more.  She could be a hard core conservative that he is trying to sneak through as far as we know.  If she is, it's a shame GW has wasted his credibility and can't get support for her.

Rank cronie-ism.

We can only hope that she's the damn B-2 bomber of stealth candidates.

All large firms play both sides of the fence when it comes to political contributions. Otherwise they could get disqualified during contract bids. Winning contracts means more profit for the firm and a firm's executives are expected to generate profits/dividends for the firm's owners/stockholders.

I doubt she's ever seen a trojan.

Still too many unknowns for me.

If she is, it will be to bring the libtards to their knees.

I suspect that in a few months, the Left is going to be REALLY pissed off.

GWB has a history of rolling the opposition.  No reason to doubt he isn't about to do that again.

I don't think she is a Trojan Horse as much as I think she is a sacrificial Straw-man (woman) to be knocked down by the Demos. Thus, making it more palatable for them to give the go ahead for W's next, mo-betta pick.

This lets the Demos "Feel" better about their minority status (it's all about the touchy-feely stuff for them) and we get a decent candidate easily passed though the process...

I don't buy that.  The political cost of a failed nomination is too great.  People vividly remember the Bork, Thomas (although he passed) and pot smoking dude (what was his name).

I think George W wants Meirs on the bench and thinks he can squeak her through.

Tell me then, what exactly is the cost of a failed nomination when you get the right guy in office in the end?

Reagan chose Kennedy, with the support of the evangelicals, because he was supposedly conservative.  All were sorely disappointed.  In real life, if we are looking to hire someone, we look to see if they have relevant experience.  Miers has NO Constitutional experience AT ALL.  Her nomination is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in my life.

I'm still looking for the silver lining to this cloud, but W can go fugg himself after this fumble. The chance of a lifetime to kick the dummycraps in the nuts and HE BLOWS IT!!!
