After being briefed by US officials on the Cuban government's possible dabbling in bio-tech weapons, what does the former President have to say when he tours one such plant?

Guess?

Carter Disputes Cuban Involvement
Mon May 13, 8:32 PM ET
By ANITA SNOW, Associated Press Writer

HAVANA (AP) - Touring a major biotechnology lab with Fidel Castro, Jimmy Carter on Monday took issue with Bush administration claims that the island nation has exported technological know-how to rogue states for use in biological weapons.

Bush administration officials, however, said they were standing by their assertions that Cuba has at least a limited biological warfare program and has shared such biotechnology with rogue states. One allegation says those states are Iran and Libya, Carter said.

A State Department official also said Monday that Carter was not briefed on the weapons issue because his briefing occurred before the allegations by Undersecretary of State John Bolton last week in Washington.

Early Monday, Carter met with two leading Cuban dissidents for a human rights briefing. Later, he toured the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, telling Castro and Cuba's top scientists that he specifically asked White House, State Department and intelligence officials during a recent briefing if Cuba was transferring technology or other information that could be used in terrorist activities.

"The purpose of this briefing was for them to share with us any concern that my government had about possible terrorist activities that were supported by Cuba," he said.

"There were absolutely no allegations made or questions raised. I asked them specifically on more than one occasion if there was any evidence that Cuba has been involved in sharing any information to any other country on Earth that could be used for terrorist purposes.

"The answer from our experts on intelligence was, 'no,'" Carter said.

The correct answer is: Yes, he's an idiot!

Remember what the prime interest rate was when he was president?
Wasn't it about 18-19%?
What a fucking toll that took on my generation.
I have never forgiven him for that,the gridlock he caused in the goverment and let's not forget his forign policy.
That being said I thought he was doing a fair job as an elder statesman with his community home building and such,but this just seems wrong to me.
We should not give Castro the time of day.

I'm hoping Carter emigrates to Cuba--he should stay there, he's obviously a communist sympathizer.  One less asshole to deal with here as our republic crumbles down around our ears.

I notice that little Elian Gonzalez, whom Castro got so much political mileage out of, is nowhere to be seen this time.  Fuck Cuba and fuck the dirty bastards that want to make nicey with communists and dictators and communist dictators.

And fuck all those know-nothing idiots who wear Che t-shirts!

Carter is still upset at the great sendoff that Nixon got at his funeral, and the fact that he hasn't done anything remotely to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

But he's going to keep trying before he goes 10-7 (Out Of Service).

Post from AZCOP -
Carter is still upset at the great sendoff that Nixon got at his funeral
View Quote

That is very perceptive, AZCOP!

It was such a surprise to Carter that Nixon got the send-off that he did! Apparently, he must have thought about Nixon the way the Washington Post and the Eastern Establishment thought about Nixon, and didn't have a clue as to how the great mass of Americans felt about Nixon.

A flawed man, but a great man, nevertheless.

And doesn't Nixon look so much more Presidential in those interviews that he gave to David Frost right before he died.

I remember a story that one fellow told about going to a Mets game in New York and being surprised to see Richard Nixon sitting with his grandson in the moderately priced seats.

It was some years after his resignation, and there was Nixon having a great time with his grandson.

There were no Secret Agents around, because of all the former Presidents, Nixon was the only one who declined Secret Service protection.

He was there by himself, with his grandson, and surrounded by a lot of folks who might have wanted to take a swing at the guy.

But didn't.

Exactly. Lenin referred to western defenders of socialism and the Soviet Union as "useful idiots." In other words, they were no more loved by the people they whored themselves for than by the people they turned their (rhetorical, at least) backs on.

I wonder if the Naval Academy is proud of this alumnus.

Just WTF is this miserable, ineffectual, impotent, failure of a President doing sucking-up to Castro????

Boy they must have REALLY hit a nerve with the Bioweapons claim to send Carter down there to assure Castro that we don't really mean to upset his apple cart.

The story hinting that Castro had bioweapons MUST have something to it if the Libs sent Carter there so fast.

The Liberals here REALLY want to squash that rumor fast - NO FN-WAY they want us poking our nose around Cuba in our "War on Terrorism" - cause they KNOW what that we'd find Castro supporting, harboring and protecting terrorists.

Anyone care to make some bets:
Bet 1) Carter returns saying "there's no bioweapons in Cuba - nothing to see here, move along."
Bet 2) Carter avoids visiting troops in Guantanamo

And yeah like we're supposed to believe somebody who is hardly an expert on chemical or biological weapons to make that statement.

And in less than 24 hours he inspected the entire country of Cuba and rendered his judgement that Cuba and Castro have nothing to do with terrorists.

I just can't believe no one else is seeing this for what it is!!

In less than 24hours, the liberal/socialist/communists in OUR GOV'T here have just extinguished any suggestion that Castro is supporting or supplying the terrorists by sending this joke of an inspection team led by that spineless, dimwitted, moronic fool Carter.

The Fifth Column consisting of liberal, Democratic, Socialist, Anti-American, deconstructors in this country is now firmly entrenched and in control of this nation.

And this happens because the Liberal media don't question this farce of a mission, it's timing, or it's OBVIOUSLY predetermined outcome and most sheeple are too dumbed-down and distracted by their "circuses" to see the chains being wrapped around their own necks.

I used to have a lot of respect for him as a man, but his recent attacks on the president have made me seriously rethink this.  He is a "useful idiot" (Michael Savage listeners need no definition of what this means) in the sense that while he wasn't much good as a president, he is respected as an honorable man by many, and for that reason he makes a better propaganda mouthpiece for the democrats than say...Bill Clinton.

Here's a sampling of the wisdom of Jimmy Carter, drawn from his op-ed piece, "Peru Can Give U.S. Lessons in How to Hold Elections":

"In Peru, there is an official organization that maintains an accurate nationwide list of qualified voters. Those who die are automatically deleted, and registration is transferred when a person moves. A standard identification card, including a photograph and a digitized thumbprint, is issued when a person reaches voting age."  (Jimmy does recognize, though, that "Some of these requirements would not be acceptable to many Americans".  No foolin', peanut boy. [rolleyes])

"Elections are held on Sundays, and every citizen is required [my emphasis] to vote."

"A civic organization called Transparencia now includes 21,000 well-trained volunteers, mostly young people, who are deployed throughout the nation to observe and monitor the election. They enjoy great confidence, and have substantial influence on the candidates. They help guarantee full compliance with rules and regulations, and their additional goals are to discourage negative campaigning and require more specific accounting for campaign contributions."  (Don't say anything "negative" or the transparency police will get you.)

"A small group of distinguished jurists, with constitutional authority, makes final decisions over the entire procedure and resolve any possible disputes."  (Why even bother to vote when we can have "distinguished jurists" running things?)

Jimmy Carter's achievments as President:

DOMESTIC -
* Stagflation - the seemingly impossible combination of negative economic growth and rapid inflation.
* 20% "misery index" (inflation + unemployment)
* 13.5% inflation
* 7.2% unemployment
* 18% mortgage interest rates
* 70% top marginal income tax rate
* 14+% poverty rate
* Formed the Dept. of Education = entrenching the Teachers Union in the Federal Gov't.
* The 1979 "oil crisis" and more gas lines.
* He told America to wear sweaters, turn down the heater to 68 and just do more with less from now on.
* He ran a whopping 23% approval rating during 1980 campaign.
* He lost in a 489 to 49 Electoral landslide for Reagan and Republican control of the Senate in 1980. (Thank God!!)

FOREIGN AFFAIRS -
* Gave us 444 days of non-stop world-wide humiliation at our impotent and ineffectual President.
* Approved a poorly planned and botched "rescue" that only added to America's humilation around the world.
* Watched detente crumble with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
* Pulled out of the 1980 Olympics - for spite.
* Gave away the Panama Canal.
* Failed to exlain a mysterious $250,000 payment from Libya to his brother Billy.
* Allowed three countries to fall to communism under his watch: Benin, Nicaragua, and Zimbabwe.
* Oh yeah... he made Sadat and Begin shake hands.

Jimmy Carter also favored:
* Equal Rights Amendment
* National Health Insurance
* SALT II missle treaty
* Unilateral disarmament

Jimmy Carter is nothing but an spineless, impotent, embarassingly-ineffectual, gutless, socialist, moronic fool who should never have held any Gov't position higher than a paper-clip sorter for Barney Fife.
