Does it make me a dick if I cut the grass at 7AM? I have other stuff to get done today and I want to get started. I have no beef with my neighbors but we don't hang out or anything. My one neighbor immediately next to me did just have a newborn baby in the last week.

Does it make you a dick? No. It would just provide confirmation.

|
Take the muffler off, fire that sucker up, lets us know how it turns out.
|

'Legally' per city ordinance? - possibly not? That said, I've seen 8am as a time when loud noise is allowed to occur relative construction sites I've worked on in some towns...
...regardless, cutting grass at 7:00 will probably piss off a few neighbors if you care |
|
Hell I'd use it as an excuse to be out there myself. Honey, in losing, I wasn't out there first. Enjoy the noise but I gotta finish before that guy!

|
I work nights and it's like a God damn circus outside my bedroom window while I get a measley 5 hours sleep.
They can suck it up. Mr Gorbachev MOW THAT LAWN! |

You're retarded if you think that's a good idea in a residential area on Saturday morning.

|
I would shoot at your porch lights with my pellet gun for a few weeks.

Changed plans. I have to rent a tool today but it's only $20 more to rent it for the full day than it is for 4 hours. I'll just go rent the tool and get my supplies and then cut it when I get back at 9. Too much dew on the grass now anyway, and the neighbor right next to me with a new baby is a good dude. To be honest though, I wouldn't care what time my neighbors cut their grass - I just wish they'd cut it in the first place.

Yes. I could understand if the heat index was going to be triple digits though.
|
|
The way I see it is if there are headlights on my mower it doesn't matter when I cut my grass. Cooler in the dark too.

Quiet ordinance here is 7am. Most people wait until 8.
Your neighbors having a newborn, I might wait until 9am just for karmic reasons. Or could be straight forward and ask them if the kid was already up for feedings at 7am and go ahead. |

Nah bro I had other plans at 3 this afternoon so I was trying to get my shit done before then but I got a text that it was cancelled. Pretty sure I have nothing to fear from my neighbors. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

5:15 when the sun raises, get the day off to the right start........
|
|
I think 7am is fine. After 9am and I'll cut you because I work overnights.

We've been over this before here.
Mon.- Fri.- it's on once the sun comes up. Sat.- 0900 Sun-1000 |

It will set a precedent, and then when your neighbor gets his mid life crisis Harley he won't hesitate to hammer on it first thing in the morning past your house.
Most of the places I've worked we either couldn't or wouldn't run power equipment before 8am. |
|
I live in the boonies...I can barely see my neighbor's house through the woods. Still wait unti 8.

You say everyone in your neighborhood gets along. Are you looking to change that?

8am is okay for weekdays. 830 (or more likely 9) is the absolute earliest for weekends.

If the sun is up, it's time to get to work. The neighbors will thank you for firing up the mower and shaking them from their lazy Saturday stupor. A productive day, is a good day.
