the last time i was in iraq a picked up a couple million dinar due to all of the wild speculation that was occuring in my company. anyway fast forward to this year and i noticed that the rate droped about around 100 points to 1325 from 1460or so.

while i never really thought it was the powerball ticket that many were hoping for. does anybody thing that the currency has a chance drop much more?

Does it have Saddam's pic on it?  It maybe worth something to a collector 100 years from now.

Currency is a wonderful thing. I had a friend who had a reserve stash of a couple K in euros that he kept since he travels to Europe frequently. He put it together when Euros were like 80 cents. Decided to finally get rid of it and change it back to dollars last month. Can we say profit?

Wish I had done that.

Having hung out in Weimar I can say first hand what economic depression did to that place. So much of East Germany is still recovering from the nazi era detruction and following economic depression. Really sad. Glad to see its starting to recover, but sadly its at the cost of the west. (and the west is not happy at all about the taxes to support the rebuilding)

Or the Turkish Lira. They just lopped six zeroes off the face value of their currency, last year.
