Staged.
Only people who actually KNOW wtf is an AimPoint
will see whats wrong with the picture and realize the guy forgot to
uncap it for the photo op.

There is nothing wrong with his use of the aimpoint. In fact, he is being very smart.
By keeping the front lens cover closed and both eyes open, he can still 'see' through
the entire rig and put the red dot on his target. Meanwhile, the enemy downrange can not see
his illuminated dot! This is outlined in the M68 manual.
I have a CompML and this technique works just fine.
Try it yourself if you still disbelieve.

Thanks for the knowledge MPH.  I just got a ML2 last week, and it does work fine.

I'll third that. Works fine.

However, far be it from me to disagree with the experts.

yep, if you had an aimpoint you would know it's just as functional as with the cap off. but you probably own an eotech

The fellow on the top is aiming out of a hole in the wall... not the window... hence the obscured end of his barrel.

Y'all forgot about the polarizing cap on the Trijicon Reflex?  If the background (outdoors) is so bright when you're shooting from the inside, the Reflex reticle tends to get washed out.  I bet the SAW gunner is doing it for this reason.

yeah - how'd I do on this....pigfucker

So why do an ARD at all?

I have an aimpoint...just never use it that way

Yall do realize the Aimpoint works with the front cap closed and both eyes open.  If functions the same as the Trijicon Occluded Eye Gunsite.  Your brain superimposes the dot over the image your non-dominant eye sees.

Closing the front cap is a good quick trick when the sun over powers your dot.

Beat me to it by, oh, a few hours.

Very interesting.  For my black rifles I use Trijicon and EO.
Thanks 4 the info!

You will also kindly note that the SAW guner is firing-there are several links being ejected in the photo. He's quick, the links are dumping and his finger is already off of the trigger.

just went and tried it out...works just fine. Don't recall seeing that in the Aimpoint manual. Will have to check that out.
