Interior doors with spring assist....
I a interior door with spring assist. the spring is built into the door hanging brackets.
The spring tension has weakend and the door door does not close as quickly as it used to.
I got this feature to help keep my dogs from running out, when the door is open.

My question is, how do I adjust/tighten the spring tension?

Normally you turn the adjustment screw on the end of the piston.

However, if this is inside the hinges? no adjust.
The springs always go soft on kitchen cabinet hinges so I suspect this would be no different, and it was a bad move to buy a door like that.

So now either, replace hinges everytime this happens, or install the normal top of door spring piston dealie.
