I just got my new laptop, and I was wondering if there is a program that will allow me to control the speed? I know its possible, all i want to do is change the multiplier.

RIght now I can change it from slow....auto.....high.   Slow puts it around 1.1-1.4Ghz, auto is everywhere, and high only puts it up to 2.66Ghz. It was compressing files for 2 hours yesterday and it peaked at 2.66GHz, while this processor should go up to a 22x multiplier equalling 2.93Ghz.

BTW this cpu is amazing when it comes to battery power. So far im looking at almost 5 hours with the screen at 7/10 browsing the internet and randomly watching hd youtube videos.

You only get full Turbo Boost speed if one core is idle.  File compression is generally multithreaded, and would load the entire CPU.
