Dot, not feather, indian coworker says it has lots of religious connotations to it and she can't look. Says she's gotten 20 phone calls from her mother and mother-in-law about it. Says even her wedding was timed according to the moon cycle.
WTF? |

A pregnant coworker said her Mom told her not to go out because the radiation would be 10x normal during the eclipse. didn't want her to harm the baby.

This Indian, feathers not dots, is currently roasting on his front stoop underneath a parasol while waiting for totality.

My Indian coworkers were out looking at it. They did mention there is superstition against going to the temple or eating while it is happening, while checking out our eclipse glasses.

Combine a couple of things together from various religions during the eclipse to make sure you absolutely goto hell? |

... as a young man, I worked with the nicest huge Negro you'd ever meet. When lightning and thunderstorms blew in we'd roll up shop doors and take in all of God's glory first hand. Our Black colleague would go to his desk and sit quietly. Later found out from him that it was believed lightning was attracted to white teeth - hence his behavior. We didn't ever judge

Every culture has questionably weird beliefs. We ain't any different.

Have lots of natives at work who called in todah or showed up late. Theyre not supposed to eat or drink during it and to stay out of the sunlight durning.

How was it? We were in the 94% zone, plus we had those damn pop up storms. It got kind of darkish. View Quote And my chest got sunburned during the run-up to the event. |

Guess it depends how superstitious they are.
We just had a viewing out back and 30+ folks were there including several Indians. We only got 2/3 of an eclipse, didn't really get very dark. |

Fucking amazing! It got very dark, several planets were visible, the 'shadow lines' were plain to see, then it got quiet all around. And my chest got sunburned during the run-up to the event. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
