I bought some Indian .308 in bulk before I knew any better. It seems to shoot OK, and is in good shape.

Now after reading some threads on Battlerifles.com, I realize that it has acquired a really bad reputation.

I get the impression that some of the posters over there are a little gun snobbish. So I don't know if the risk is exaggerated.

For $90/thousand, I don't expect the Indian to shoot like black hills. I just want to make sure that people are not being killed and maimed with the stuff.

Has anybody here had first hand experience with Indian .308 kabooms?

I bought a case of the Indian .308 as well. It burns kind of dirty and smells unusual but it seems to shoot OK. Indians have been making stuff out of brass for thousands of years. They've got to be pretty good at it by now.

I think I am only going to use it in my .308 Enfield. I would like to see the headstamps of the offending loads.

Wow quick responses. I'll check it out Campy. I also read that it's dirty, because it contains the ashes of cremated convicts.....not that i'm opposed to that...especially if the convicts were muslims.

That's because they really do put curry in everything.

I wouldn't touch it

I had a friend who bought some last year. He also reloads. I told him I had heard "bad stuff" and to weigh the rounds on his digital scale and compare the measurements.

Half an hour later he calls back: "This shit is all over the place... call ya back in a bit"

An hour after that, he calls back again: "OK, so I pulled the bullets on 40 rounds and the projectiles are not off by much. But the shell casings are all over the place and so are the powder charges are too."

Needless to say, he didn't use the stuff.
