Its dirt cheap, so why not buy some just for plinking? I was thinking of getting it in 308, if a few don't go off big deal it won't destroy the gun or anything right?

Other than it really sucks badly, in every possible way, no. Oh yeah, it's dangerous too. Other than that it's great stuff.

How old is it? And where can you buy it?

it is complete crap. not even worth it for blasting ammo. I bought a case last year hoping to reload the cases even if the ammo was poor. The brass is useless. The powder charges range from light to VERY HOT in the same package. Bullet weight consistanc is atrocious. After some severe accuracy problems i pulled a few cases. out of 10 rounds 2 were actually just formed jackets with no lead. I can not imagine how this stuff was ever used for anyones military. PASS ON IT! mike

I bought some of that shit this year from ammoman. Have two thousand rounds sitting in the basement. Going to throw it away.

Considering that it's really outsourced American ammo, I definitely recommend against buying it. [;D]

No idea about Indian .308, but if it's anything like Pakistani .303 POF surplus ammo, it must be utter crap. Click-bang!

Agree with all the above...before shooting, its recommended to thoroughly check the brass, you'll be surprised how beat up, screwed up and in just plain how bad a shape 35-40% looks like from the outside!!!

I really don't mind inconsistant ammo I just don't want to blow my gun or hand up. Is it safe?
