Getting ready here for the 4th. Put some ribs under the spell of my dry rub and loaded up 200 rounds of 'Joyus Noise' M-118LR.

So....what have you done to get ready to celebrate?

Nobody is getting ready to celebrate? Buying fireworks? Stocking up on barley pop?

I have to be up at 5 for the annual Independence Day Rifle match out here. So to prepare- tomorrow night  I'll think about cleaning my spr but just ignore it.

I'm gonna be driving to North Carolina and leaving sometime on the 4th so I've just been getting ready for that trip.

No big deal about missing out on the 4th though, if you set off any fireworks around here they'd throw you under the jail.  Finally rained today for the first time in about a month, lots of towns completely cancelled their fireworks.

I'm going off-base to take pictures of the on-base fireworks from the roof of a 7-story building.

Spent yesterday cutting pecan wood for the BBQ and putting the brisket in the Guinness, but other than that the preps have already been done.

I'm probably going to spend most of the day near my garden hose, ready to spray down sparks.

Possibly going to the lake.
Not exactly sure what I am doing, but one thing I know I am not doing and that is working

We have a fireworks ban here in Indiana, only the big shows can do it and some of them are canceling because of how dry it is. I know Indianapolis is still a go and the ones on some of the lakes are still good but individuals are not allowed to light off personal fireworks until we get some rain.

1st offense is a warning
2nd is a fine up to $2500 and/or 180 days in jail ClassB misdemeanor
I think they might be serious, not even my white trash inbred redneck neighbors are setting them off and I know they have to be sitting on at least a couple welfare checks worth of shit that goes boom...gonna be a loud October I guess

Be safe everyone!

Hell, NY abstained on the July 2nd vote for independence anyway. That they don't allow celebration 236 years later doesn't surprise me.

Have some monster booms going off right now around the house.

Might have to leave the basement and check them out.

Such as it is. To date it's still the freest country on Earth.

Heading in to work in a few minutes. A hundred degrees and humid today. I'll grab an extra half dozen or so bags of saline and drip sets, steal all the ice packs I can find, fill my own cooler with ice and water...

Ought'a be an entertaining shift.

Oops, they changed the forcast; 101 degrees with 73% humidity.

Hydrate, folk.
