Am I just getting old and cranky?  Seems to me Independance Day is the proper name of the holiday, 4th of July seems to minimize it.

If it's not Independence Day than it should be. Why on Gods green earth would you not have a holiday like this on the first Friday of the month? Wednesday, what a way to ruin a work week.
