EveryTown, USA - -(AmmoLand.com)- In just 3 months Americans bought enough guns to outfit the entire Chinese and Indian army's combined. You also bought 1,529,635,000 rounds of ammunition in just the month of December 2008. Yeah that is right, that is Billion with a "B". This is an evaluation of overall firearms and ammunition purchases based on low end numbers per Federal NIC instacheck data base. The numbers presented are only PART of the overall numbers of arms and ammunition that have been sold. The actual numbers are much higher. Good show everyone that contributed to this. Ya'all give yourselves a hand and a pat on the back. Ata' boy! |

Hey gov, be afwaid, be very very afwaid.
Unfortunately, 1.5 billion rounds only equals 5 rounds per person in the US. That is, in my opinion, not enough!! |

Maybe so but 5 rounds per person is still a pretty pathetic amount, especially when 2 or three of those are probably .22 rimfire. |

Bad; Created a temporary shortage and spike in prices.
Good; Sent a clear message to Washington. The good out weighs the bad. |

"Another source of power in government is a military force. But this, to be efficient, must be superior to any force that exists among the people, or which they can command; for otherwise this force would be annihilated, on the first exercise of acts of oppression. Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive." Noah Webster

I shared this article with the owner of my favorite gun store in town and he smiled. He told me that their business has been absolutely booming and he was excited about all the new gun owners.

Oh no! Since guns cause violence, that means there has to have been a drastic increase in violent crimes....right???
|

It kinda makes not being able to find ammo for my guns sting a little less seeing this.

Unfortunately, many of them will end up under steamrollers. When the fed comes knocking, the sad truth is most, and probably many if not most here, will give them up, and become peons.
The rest of us? The Alamo comes to mind. |

It is nice to know that when the dealer calls in your info during a purchase and the person on the other ends tells him "another one?"
Yes I am on a list somewhere but who cares. But when the checks came in we were assured they would not keep track. |
