When it comes to AK's I am a fan of the traditional layout........wood and steel.

On the AK forum, there is the constant battle of "traditional" vs "tacticool" and what is considered accurate in builds (very similar to the AR retro section, except we argue about proper rivet structure, wood stain, bulgarian vs. russian muzzle brakes, etc..)

Well folks, straight out of Russia comes this:

It now seems that all the tacticool AK's are now correct.

Here is what I see on the rifle (feel free to add what I missed):

TWS Dogleg rail system
Magpul BUIS
Aimpoint T1/H1 - unknown riser
PEQ-15
Surefire of some sort
Unknown rail system
Krebs safety
Tromix BCG handle mod
M4 stock.

My questions:
- Can US companies just send this stuff to Russia?

- What is his username

ETA: Here are pics from further down in the thread - not airsoft and in Russia

That's a dang lot of American gear for a Russian. Are you sure it's not airsoft?

ETA: I see the additional pictures now. I still wonder how they get that much American stuff.

The Ruskies are a pretty pragmatic bunch, it seems suspect - i.e. a lot of additional stuff that would seem to weigh the weapon down more than it would improve it.

My guess is, whether they are slinging tacticool AKs, classic AKs, Makarov pistols or Mosin 91/30s, those guys are killing machines and not to be taken lightly.

EDIT: In before the pic of Medevev holding up the AK with a metric shit ton of accessories on it.

I like the AK of the guy the furthest to left. It has an EOtech and a flashlight but manages to keep the classic AK look.

The Texas Weapons Systems cover is supposed to be pretty solid, as it attaches by replacing the rear sight.

Not sure. I am trying to figure that out right now.

Might be a Midwest or Ultimak or some russian design.

Seems to be working about as well as that whole War on Drugs is.

Nice setup but that has to be a huge bore offset on those sights. I prefer my T-1 mounted on a Midwest Industries/US Palm AK Handguard.

ETA: Didn't see the night vision mount behind the T-1, guess that would be a good reason for the offset.
