I had a craving for Kettle Corn and e-mailed Imbroglio for advice.

Here is his recipe:

********************************************
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
1/4 cup white sugar
4 tablespoons vegetable oil

Place the popcorn and sugar in a large pot with 4 tablespoons vegetable oil. Over a medium heat, begin to pop the popcorn. Constantly shake the pot to ensure that the popcorn kernels and oil do not burn. Once the popping has slowed, remove the pot from heat
*********************************************

I just finished whipping up my first batch.
It was OUTSTANDING!

It's for real....   and it is TASTY !

I used a "Whirley Pop" stovetop cooker that I bought from amazon.com  (around 30 bucks?)

(It has a handle to stir the popcorn and is
easier than using a conventional pan.)

I finished off the first bowl in under 5 minutes.  I am stuffed !

Would a conventional hot oil popper work??

I know that would take the "kettle" out of kettle corn, but I'm lazy.
