I just delivered a load of firewood to a family who didnt have shit.

She was all nervous about not having enough money to pay me .

The house was friggin empty and cold.

I told the poor lady "No charge."

Man I feel lucky.

I think it's worth a 1/8 tank of gas and a 1/2 hour of cutting to give a family heat for a month.

The guy helping me even slipped her a twenty.

You can't do that. Only the govt. can dole out charity.

Good job. It feels good to help someone, doesn't it?

I hope it comes back to you ten fold. To bad there's not more people out there with the same mindset.

My dad used to do the same kind of things. He'd work three gardens all summer, and give most of it away to single moms we knew trying to raise their kids. However he never gave a dime to charity, believing it started close to home.

What was the job worth? I'd pitch in to pay you in full for that fine act. What was the cost of the job?

And Merry Christmas to you. Yes, I said "Merry Christmas", as opposed to the more-inclusive phrase, "Happy Holidays" (Fellow Puget Sounders, you know what I'm referring to).

You and your partner did a wonderful deed!  After the day I've had today, and people I've seen, my faith in people like you was diminishing....you just fixed all of that.

Thank You!

You aren't being tolerant and inclusive.  And besides, it's not even Christmas yet.

Happy Hogswatch.  Remember, "A dragon is for life, not just for Hogswatch."

Makes you feel pretty damn good doesn't it.  I expect nothing less from the good folks here, and am glad to hear of it.  I am always amazed what insane deeds we "goofy gun nuts" pull.  A little kindness surely goes a long way- and it will return to you.  Merry Christmas, and keep showing others we are indeed the ones who care.

Yeah, Ron Sims can wad up his political correctness and sensitivity training and shove it up his stupid ass.

Frankly, sometimes it kind of surprises that with all the bellyaching from the politically correct, a religious holiday like Christmas is even still allowed to be a Federal holiday here in America. Isn't that discriminatory in itself?

It is situations like that one that let us know how much we have to be thankful for.  By your deed, you showed us all the true spirit of Christmas.

We may forget what you did, geezhound, she may even forget what you and your friend did.

But He will never forget what you both did.

And that, quite frankly, is all that counts!

Hmm...what I would like to do, is get my 21 yr old (going on 13, and "is this ALL I'm going to get"?) stepdaughter to read and understand it.
The same one who thinks she's TOO cool to work at McDonalds to help finance her own (and failing) education. This is a problem I inherited and am going to have a bitch of a time changing.
I don't mean to change subject,Just a rant cuz I'm fed up.
Kudos indeed to you Geezhound for dropping off that firewood!

Geezhound,
Can you help us help her?
Address, you or her?
A little from some of us would make it better for her. This would be a great way for me to celebrate Christmas.
