What would you want to get into? My schedule at work just got changed from a regular weekly schedule, to the rotating 12 hour shifts type schedule. What it boils down to (I'm sure many are familiar with it) is 2 days on, 2 days off, every other weekend. Essentially, what days I work this week, I'll have off next week. Anyway..now that I've got a couple weeks per month that I only work 3 days of the week, I've been thinking about starting something up to bring in some extra income. Anyone doing this? What would you recommend?

I think it would be fun to deal cards at a casino.

Plumbing. I spoke to a plumber and he said "You won't believe how many calls I get just doing stupid stuff like plunging a sink." Todays metrosexual guys can hardly use the toilet without an instruction booklet.

Personal trainer maybe. Or just building things out of wood in my shop. I don't even have time to build the projects on my honeydo list.

This is what I'm thinking. Just don't know what to get into exactly. A lot of my problem too is I don't have all the tools necessary for certain work that puts a bit of a damper on things. I can build things for sure, but it'll be more or less 2x4's screwed together

my brother and his gf bought a house at the end of last year.  they needed a dining room table, so he said "i guess i'll build a table".  didn't have much in the way of woodworking tools, but he made do.  then came an end table, so he bought a new saw.  then a nightstand, and he picked up a router.  each new piece, he bought one tool.

he's now getting good enough that people are buying his stuff, and he's having a great time with it.

So you want to make additional money based around a hobby you have yet, you have no hobbies.
Excellent plan.

Start a business as a "funeral sitter"

Some old guy dies, right?  The obit in the paper tells everyone when the wake is and grave side service, so ne'er-do-wells plan on robbing the deceased's house when everybody is gone.

You set up a business as a house sitter during those times.

There's a "plumber" up here that only does drain unclogging work. I don't think he even advertises, just gets referrals from a licensed plumber who only wants to do big jobs.

If nobody is doing it in your area, buy a decent "drone" and an Imac  and learn how do Real Estate  videos. Depending on the area you live in it can be either fun and pay for your equipment...to very profitable. Just be sure to get insurance and fly safe.

I work a second job doing programming/reporting automation for some decent coin.  It's basically a second, full-time salary.  Don't need to go into the office, nor keep a set of hours.  As long as the client gets their reports in their inbox, I'm good.  Almost no meetings, etc.  It's a super sweet deal, but it took me years to develop the skill set to get to this point.

YMMV -- programming, BI, and all that might not be for everyone.  In fact, sometimes I get sick of all this crap and start looking around for trades to learn.

I do suspension work, brakes, tune ups and other mechanical/ electrical work on the side out of my garage at home. Word has spread to folks and I have consistent work on the weekends. I normally just do it Friday evenings and Saturdays. I started by helping someone replace a CV axle from a craigslist ad and it just cascaded from there. The IRS probably monitors these forums so I do it for free.

I work 60-80 hours a week and have for nearly a decade.  If I suddenly have time for anything else I sure as fuck don't plan to spend it at a goddamned mother fucking part time job.

I would be very scared of liability if i were you.

I don't touch cars belonging to many others for that and other reasons (namely the fact that if you touch it you now "own" every future problem it will ever have.)
