What would it be? Let's hypothetically imagine that the Federal Government somehow turned totally anti-gun and you can only have ONE weapon in your household, if you don't follow the one weapon policy, you will be treated as a felon. I would have to keep my H&K 94 and forego the EA-15A2.
Link Posted: 4/21/2001 7:17:06 PM EDT
an MX missle with nuclear tips would cover all situtions I guess
Link Posted: 4/21/2001 7:22:24 PM EDT
Would probably keep my sig shr 970 in 300 mag.as it would have more use for me .Remember i also live in the prk so the ar is already evil.

Select fire BAR. although it would be somewhat difficult to holster it.
Link Posted: 4/21/2001 7:27:37 PM EDT
I'd probably take my old low tech 12ga. with 000 buck, not much to go wrong there. Or maybe my Colt 1911 I could carry much more ammo! Don't know right off hand, I don't have any frag. grenades. Cruise missles? Atomic warheads? Don't know! TF

Sounds like a piss poor collection. If I was living off the land and going mobile it would be a 22 rimfire rifle. If I was fighting imaginary enemies(WOLVERINES!) it would be my Colt Gov't Carbine..

If I had to make the choice right now it would be my AK with a 100rd drum. Not because its the best (Though It's very reliable) but because I have the most ammo for it. John[heavy]

Amen to that. If not the BAR the SAW. I am having a hard time choosing. Both are so cool.

Realistically a 1911 would do for me. Un-realistically I would want some kind of select fire sub gun. Maybe an HK MP5
Link Posted: 4/21/2001 8:41:40 PM EDT
Doesn't matter. If I have 1 gun, I can get more.

if uncle sam was that restricitve, i would probaly have sevral FN m16s and 92fs. but hypothetically, i sould say 870. you can hunt anything with it and i could still shoot trap, but if i was being forced to only have one gun AR all the way

And don't forget the Guide Lamp Liberator .45s we airdropped in France so the "resistance" could use these cheap disposable handguns to aquire better German firearms.

4" smoothbore barrel. About 5 inches overal. Emptied the spent round with a stick or pencil. But yes, you are thinking of the correct gun.

The Great Thomas Jefferson once said, "The best thing about the 2nd ammendment is that we won't need it until they try to take it away." ...but then again he also said, "If government ever tries to tax the people more than 6 percent, REVOLT" and look where we are now.

>Are you thinking of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >that's it. was on the tip of my tongue. if i remember right they used a 1/2 dozen crude firearms against the nazi to acquire better >weapons. ....they did the same in Greece. Before WW2 the Greek govt banned most firearms because of all the clan wars. About the only thing they were left with were flintlocks, OLD flintlocks. So, when the Germans came in, the only way to fight them was with sawn-off flintlocks, held against the bellies or backs of German sentries, etc. Quite effective at killing the German, so as to grab his more modern guns. Quite effective, as long as the flintlock musket didn't misfire...one can only imagine what the fate of the guy whose flinter misfired was. If the US Govt ever only allows us one gun each, it will be a flintlock musket.....

I'd keep my AR-15, but get a 12 gauge shotgun mounted beneath the barrel. Since my wife gets one too, I'd make her keep my other AR-15 but I'd have one of those z-m weapons systems overhauls on it by then....... Then of course there would be the stuff burried in a 55 gallon drum out back [-!-!-][-!-!-][-!-!-][-!-!-][-!-!-][-!-!-] [uzi] [rocket] [shotgun] [heavy] [pyro] [sniper] [kill]

The Liberator held 10 rounds in it's grip. It did have a smooth bore, and I believe the barrel was 3 inches, not four. However, I am not 100% sure on the barrel length. You pulled the end of the gun back (kind of like a Luger), and it popped the cartrige out. The Great And Wondful, Sir Captain OBVIOUS

I got this off of the recguns list. The image file was huge and on a slow server, so I uploaded it to my geocities account. [img]http://www.geocities.com/jmoto69/lib45.jpg[/img] [url]http://www.recguns.com/handgunImages.html[/url] Liberator 45 Image File Size: 438 kilobytes This little gun was produced during WW II and dropped to the resistance groups behind enemy lines. It was a cheap stamped single shot .45 complete with smooth bore and breech action. The idea was that the enemy would have no use for it if and when they found it, but the partisians would be able to take out an enemy soldier and then take his more effective weapons. It was produced by the Guide Lamp division of GM - the same division that later made turn signal lamp housings and the like. Some three million were made at a rate of 1 ever 5 seconds, making it the only gun in history that could be made faster than it could be loaded. James W. Barrel lenght IS 4" almost the entire length of the firearm. According to Blue Book only 1 million were ever manufactured and they were completed in 13 weeks.

my first idea was a 700 in 308 or 30 06 but then I had this idea, 1911 45 or 38 super and one of those rifle uppers in 400 corbon. a uppers is not a gun.. but my base would probly be in 45 beacuse it is slower and I would think easyer to supress.. so I think this would be a good all around combo.but if you don't have a gun then a bar of soap and a sock will get you one.

Without a doubt, any AR-15! It would be the weapon for which I most likely could get (1) mags; (2) ammo; and (3) repair parts. It would also be the type of weapon carried by my adversaries, should the events that this post describes actually take place! No doubt: AR15 Sporter 2 HBar or equivalent with fixed carrying handle and 3x or 4x optic. Reliable, and cheap rifle ammo.

I'd keep my M28 Highway Patrolman and lots of speedloaders...

Hell I can't believe you guys are talking about what your one gun would be. I have an idea that we should all try. How about sending a letter to your state congressman or senator and let them know how you feel about our firearms rights. Please don't let it come to a day when we can have only one gun. Thanks Gary

Hi capacity handgun like G17 for a handgun. Because a handgun is easier to hide than a rifle. If I not concerned about hiding my weapon an AR15 or AK47 would work.
