Let's say laws change, and it not only is possible to legally buy a brand new M16 from Colt for $900, you can open carry that M16 wherever you  go  (other than courthouses and jails).

Would you carry your M16 with you? Or stick to your CCW?

I'd prefer what's doing the carrying in those pics (well, the first and last ones at least)

Also, having lugged around many a 20" on watch, I think I'll stick to my Glock.

The carry of rifles isn't regulated by Texas state law except in places where weapons are prohibited...

A concealed handgun or a mk18, yes.

If the world was going to hell the laws can go with it-I will openly carry the most powerful weapon I can.-

Arfcom answer, carry both M16 and CCW.

Probably not very often, even if it was socially acceptable. Carrying around a rifle is a pain in the ass and if it’s socially acceptable to carry an AR then I don’t think I have to worry too much about street crime.

Now, if society broke down and society became more chaotic then I definitely would carry everywhere, but that should go without saying.

No but I checked and an HK53 would fit in a backpack.

I was going to say yes, but now that I think about it it woud be too much a pain in the ass to deal with when getting in and out of my car. It's not like all of us drive pick ups or humvees.

I'd might go for a AR SBR with maybe a 7" barrel. I wonder how much a pain that would be to carry in a drop leg rig.

Maybe, but I'd put a fucking magazine in it.

CCW of a pistol is all that interests me unless I'm hiking...

Life as a FOBBIT in Iraq gives you a good idea of what 'Open carry of an M16' is like - because you are required to do it (for good reason, it's a war zone)...

The reason I say 'Fobbit' is because for the infantry folks, it's a tool of the trade and they are out doing that trade... For your average FOB-dweller, the weapon is carried around as they go about a rather routine work-day inside the wire..... Which is pretty similar to what open carry in the US would be like, other than the weather & temporary construction....
