I used to race SCCA and found it very rewarding. Also, I would of liked to get more into radio controlled flying of some sort.

music. guitar, bass, keyboards
'ffroading and building monster jeeps writing and reading way too much |

I too have a case of GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome). I'm trying to keep it under control... |

|
Why, yes it is...I had another hobby and didn't even realize it. |
|

woops guess that's me too |

I already have enough other hobbies besides guns.
Photography, fossil collecting, mountain biking and I raise strange freash water fishes called Frontosa's. |
|
Fishing. As of right now, I'm spending more money on guns than my fishing gear, but that's because I am already pretty much decked out in top-notch gear (all of my rods are custom made) and haven't had to buy much more than terminal tackle, line, bait and ice. That said, every time I go out, I carry close to $1.5K worth of equipment, and that's fishing from shore . Anyone here fish as fanatically as I do?
|
|
I'm kinda like Ghost Shooter-I fish also, but spent beaucoup bucks on fishing gear a long time ago so now when I go out it's just gas for the boat and truck, bait, beer and ice.
Other than that, I'd probably get back into hotrods. Nothing eats up spare funds like guns and fast cars. I bowhunt, but competition archery doesn't interest me much. And I have the internet porn thing to fall back on, too. |

I'd love to build up a low-level muscle truck for a daily driver... I'd just like to tinkler with the bolt-on stuff. By the way, does anyone know of good magazines for performace and cosmetic enhancements of American-made trucks? I'm trying to find unbiased sources for ease of installation and HP write-ups. If the truck magazines are as sold-out as some gun magazines [cough rifleshooter cough davidtubb cough], then it could be tough to find.

I already have alternate hobbies as a back up plan, like militaria collecting, history, traveling, hiking, exersizing, reading, fine dining, shopping & sight seeing.

Knives, axes and Archery. Basically anything I can cut or stab myself with.

Must be a Californian. You forgot wine tasting... |
|
|
i build and fly remote control aircraft, and i like to get over to N.Y. for some good caving.
drinking and shooting pool at the bar is more of a professional activity than a hobby, so that doesn't count. |

Mine would be Japanese animation and Manga and their associated models.
|
|
Computers
I like building high performance gaming platforms and servers. |
|
I would consider myself a fishing fanatic. I like to fly fish in the spring and early summer for trout. I fish yellow/white perch and pickeral in the summer. Trout again in the early fall and then perch, cusk, pickeral, largemouth bass and lake trout in the winter. |

At my current income level? Martial arts, WW2 combatives and private language instruction. At my "former life"'s income level? Flying helicopters!

maybe you should do the world a favor and give up your guns. you could be the next mother theresa! schucks, i'd give you a nobel peace prize for swearing off arfcom again. permanently. |

I like to fly radio control airplanes and keep saltwater fish.

I have several hobbies and right now guns are getting the back seat.
I love flying. I've been flying about 10 hours a week on short cross country trips. June 1 I'm getting to live a dream and hunt in AK for six months. Guns, fishing, hiking, flying, hunting all in one day. Can't beat that. |
|
That is my other hobby, but I actually have started to do some modern stuff, just picked up Tamiya's M1A2 which allows you to do a USMC M1A1 from OIF but I'm using Archer Dry Transfers. All in all, I have a few thousand dollars worth of kits, resin figures and photoetch. |

Motorcycles.
Of course, I don't really spend much on gun stuff anymore. I'm pretty much stocked up with what I need in terms of hardware, and now I have a couple of projects ongoing that are just pure wants. I only spend money on ammo right now, and once I get this reloading press going I won't even be doing too much of that. But I really love motorcycles. Harleys, sportbikes, choppers, bobbers, antiques, whatever. I spent 4 hours on my bike on Saturday, and the only thing I love more than riding it is working on it. I'm trying to buy a house right now, and my #1 criteria is that it have a garage so I have a nice place to work on the bike. Guns are a fun and necessary hobby, riding is a passion. |

Firearms and firearm ownership are a way of life to me. Not a hobby.

By far cycling,
If it wasn't for gunz.Id have a nice limited edition custom made Italian road bike that even campybob would have unpure thoughts about. |
|
Guns are a necessary component of my life, not a hobby. Collecting guns might be a hobby, but the main function of a gun is to be shot. In that, guns are therefore a major component of my life. I do have hobbies, though: RevWar reenactment (I'm a Redcoat), 1/72 aircraft modelbuilding (1930's RAF!), hiking, photography, kiteflying (Codys!), leatherwork/sewing (becoming my main job...), playing guitar/singing etc., when I have spare time, whenever that is.
