If I'm not mistaken, those also function as bolt releases on that particular rifle.

Does anybody know how this actually works? If pushing the FA pushes the bolt forward, how does it release tension on the bolt catch to drop it?

As someone who won't buy an upper without a forward assist... just... huh?

Seriously. Why?

Looks like a full ambi-everything, for when you've tactically transitioned to an operation with the support hand and need to manipulate the forward assist to get the weapon into battery and ready to kinetically engage the target.

He's prepared to operate operationally in a fully ambidextrous environment. It's what all the operators do now.

YEAH I DO, BRO! I got the most swagtastic MLG #420 #360NOSCOPE ambidextrously dank rifle part ever! A Raptor charging handle!  Do you even ambi, bro?

But really, I get having ambidextrous parts like the Raptor but this is just  on a whole new level. I can't even begin to imagine the thought process behind something like this, outside of just doing it 'cause you could or you wanted to make a retardedly boutique safe queen rifle. Or maybe that shitty bro impression above is basically the creators of this... thing... in a nutshell, but with machining knowledge thrown into the testosterone and Red Bull fueled vat from which dumb stuff like this is born.

I hope they install the $33 forward assist to offset the extra weight from the forward assist.

They could at least include an ambi bolt catch and mag release if they are going to go that far.

That's so you can grab the buttstock, put the rifle between your legs, and forward assist the fuck out of the bolt by using a foot on each side.

He can drive the weapon platform to a different kind of warfare.

Needs ambi ejection ports too.  Just little push buttons in the grip to distinguish from holding in the right or left hand.

I got a chub staring down those two symmetrical knobbies. I wasn't sure why or what to do with them, but now that we've had the talk it all makes sense.

Didn't need one 40 years ago, still never used one, although I have them on all my newer guns so, ???.  Still, it would be great if the AR had a bolt handle, just like every other successful  weapon. If it's fouled enough to fail to go into battery, just hit the bolt handle with your palm. How about losing the forward assist, and the charging handle horseshit, just screw a knob into the bolt carrier, remove a ton of manufacturing procedures, reduce costs, and get the guns out there.

Forward assist is useful if you're trying to quietly chamber a round. It'll rarely go all the way into battery without some forward assist help.

I saw this at Shot. But had a hard time concentrating on the details of the rifle.
