It probably is. I'll start the story at the beginning. Last night my neighbor stopped by. He said he wanted to show me a shotgun he bought at a local pawnshop. He whipped out an old, beat-up Remington 870 with no finish remaining and deeply scratched wood. Someone had sawed the barrel off to the legal limit and sawed/sanded the buttstock into a pistol grip. He was grinning from ear to ear and said, "Guess what I got this beauty for?" I had no idea, so he told me that he gave $175. I didn't have the heart to tell him...
Anyway, to get back to my own story, he said that the pawnshop had a rifle just like my AR-15 only in .308 for $800. I'm thinking Armalite AR-10 and a good price to boot. I sweat it out all day at work thinking about that rifle sitting on a shelf at the pawnshop. After work I race up there. It was out of my way, but hey, for the price I would do it. I quickly park the car and rush through the door. I give a quick glance to the gun rack and don't see any AR-10. WTF? I soon realized what he had seen. It was a Springfield SAR-8 in extremely poor condition, and it was $800 alright---$899! I was so disgusted that I just turned and walked out without even speaking to the counterperson. Oh well, easy come easy go...
