I'll make sure it's full of hood rats and other trash and will go completely Robert DeNiro. Especially the Cigar.

I like seeing movies in the theater.  In recent years, the Cinnebarre theaters have really made the movie going experience fun.

You folks need to stop being afraid of shadows and chemtrails, or whatever the F you think is so bad about theaters.  Or live in a better area.

I rarely go. If I do, its for a family movie with the kids. The last movie I saw at the theater was "Sing".

It's all about timing.

The wife and I average about one movie a month... 9 times out of 10 there are fewer than a half dozen other folks in the theater.

NO. I don't do theaters because FUCK HOLLYWOOD, fuck inconsiderate ashholes who bring their goddam cellphones and can't SHUT THE FUCK UP during said movie, even more inconsiderate self-absorbed assholes with ill-mannered offspring who will not SHUT THE FUCK UP, i could go on. Seeing a pattern here Sparky???

If I wanted to listen to all of that shit, I would go down to the city, or the nearest Micky D's and soak it all in. BUT I DIDN'T. I wanted to hear and enjoy the fucking movie. But sadly, A BUNCH OF INCONSIDERATE ASSHOLES AND THEIR DEMONSPAWN weren't about to let that happen. Seein it now.............

I dislike the theatre:
- over priced concessions
- potential for rude patrons
- miss part of movie if/when use restroom

I wouldn't be surprised if theaters go away like the old drive ins. With large HD TVs getting cheaper and easier access to movies from home, it seems like it would cut down on theater attendance.

I just can't stomach it anymore. Cost of one ticket and I can rent the movie or own it. Overpriced all around. Then, usually a bunch of stupid, loud kids.
Now, when we have gone, it's been during the week and early so no problems.

I've just not seen the need or had the desire to go since technology made it obsolete.

Is there not an Alamo Drafthouse nearby?  They are pretty much the reason why I still go see movies in a theater, and it's the only theater I will go to.  The food isn't cheap but at least it is decent for what you get, and they are good at keeping the riff-raff and kids out (really the best reason to go there).

in less than 30 years, most theaters will disappear.  The only ones left will be dinner/alcohol/adults-only/hoodrat-tax theaters. The last movie theater I went to had fleas in the foyer.

4K TVs are dropping in price.  We just got a NICE Sony 55" for $1300 and soundbar for another $400 (in-laws insisted on both as a house-warming present).  Price at home for streaming varies between free on Netflix or Amazon Prime, $6 to rent on Amazon Prime or Google Play, or max $19.99 to buy a streaming movie on Amazon, and those options beat the shit out of paying $90+ for 2 adults and 2 kids to go to a theater and buy 4 drinks and 2 popcorns (not exaggerating!).

We go see a movie in theater probably 3-4 times a year or so. Nothing to be ascared of. Of course we are both armed when we go too

I go but prefer to go early shows. Anything near afternoon and dark is usually full of kids or people who talk through the entire movie.  I used to be polite if I asked someone to not talk but after being threatened a few times. I either shhh fairly loud or say shut the fuck up rather loud. that seems to have less threats than being polite.  Sometimes I will just move if not blocked in. The other thing is every motherfucker wants to play with the phone or talk on it instead of watching the movie.

I don't go to the movies anymore for two reasons: There is nothing worth watching in theatres, and I much to prefer to watch movies in my stranger-free living room, where I don't have to listen to people talk, watch them play on their phones, or feel them kick my seat.

Stop going to ghetto theaters and try the luxury ones where there's only a few people and the seats are all paired and recline and you can choose your seat. It's worth the extra $10 per ticket.

I actually like the local high end place with stadium seating. My personal preference is to never go but with 2 young daughters I had to change. They have had fun every time I took them.

Which is all that matters. Their dad may be a sociopathic misanthrope who loathes crowds but as long as they have a good time everything's OK.  Which is all that matters.

That's why we go to the balcony at our local Warren. Reserved seats, adult only, alcohol and food served at your seat, cell phone use strictly prohibited, heated seats. Yeah it's more money but that helps with the rif raf.

Some movies - you just have to pony up the bucks to watch it in IMAX 3D for the first time...

Buy tickets online for the earliest showing sunday mornings, all the _____ are still hung over in bed or waiting for Star Bucks to open.

Do the seats have a built in toilet for when you can't go, or you will miss something?

If I go to a theatre, I can't get a drink because of fear I'll have to go & miss something. Yet the concession stand is where they really make their money.

No, it doesn't bother me because they don't interfere with something I paid money for. And if they hit me or I hit them because they pulled out in front of me, no big deal. I drive a 20 year old truck with railroad track for bumpers. Bring it, I'm older and have better insurance.

You obviously entirely missed my point to wit:
WHY IN THE FUCK WOULD YOU PAY MONEY TO GO TO A MOVIE...........AND NOT WATCH THE FUCKING THING????? Instead you have to be an ASSHOLE and fuck it up for everyone else who did go to actually WATCH THE MOVIE.

And its cheaper, the movie industry got greedy and killed itself.  The entertainment content is so poor, most of the time it isn't worth the .50 Redbox upgrade to Blu-Ray.

I don't know what shitabulous ass ghetto theaters you go too but I never have any issues. For the most part I like watching movies from the comfort of my own home as I have a decent tv and sound system. However, the wife and I still like going to the movies every now and then. The prices are the biggest thing that keeps us away. For the price of tickets, popcorn, and drinks I could rent the movie and have a nice dinner and booze in the comfort of home without having to put pants on.

I'm the weird guy that goes to the theater by myself. I'll see two movies in a row back to back. Wife doesn't understand it.
I just don't want to be distracted or have people talking to me while I'm watching.
The new giant screens they have now are impressive.  So much better. I also have about 4 theaters within a short driving distance from my house.

This is what the wife and I do. It isn't cheap but it keeps the riff raff out. If there are any issues, the staff deals with it immediately. Use your phone once or get out of line, you'll get booted quickly. The chairs are comfortable, the beer is cold and the food is good. We go there about once a month.
