I'll make sure it's full of hood rats and other trash and will go completely Robert DeNiro. Especially the Cigar.

I like seeing movies in the theater. In recent years, the Cinnebarre theaters have really made the movie going experience fun.
You folks need to stop being afraid of shadows and chemtrails, or whatever the F you think is so bad about theaters. Or live in a better area. |
I rarely go. If I do, its for a family movie with the kids. The last movie I saw at the theater was "Sing".
It's all about timing.
The wife and I average about one movie a month... 9 times out of 10 there are fewer than a half dozen other folks in the theater. |

Wife and I just wait for the movies we want to see to come out on blue ray...
I can't stand going to a theater and having a bunch of ass clowns ruin a movie. |
I dislike the theatre:
- over priced concessions - potential for rude patrons - miss part of movie if/when use restroom |
I wouldn't be surprised if theaters go away like the old drive ins. With large HD TVs getting cheaper and easier access to movies from home, it seems like it would cut down on theater attendance.

Is there not an Alamo Drafthouse nearby? They are pretty much the reason why I still go see movies in a theater, and it's the only theater I will go to. The food isn't cheap but at least it is decent for what you get, and they are good at keeping the riff-raff and kids out (really the best reason to go there).

View Quote 4K TVs are dropping in price. We just got a NICE Sony 55" for $1300 and soundbar for another $400 (in-laws insisted on both as a house-warming present). Price at home for streaming varies between free on Netflix or Amazon Prime, $6 to rent on Amazon Prime or Google Play, or max $19.99 to buy a streaming movie on Amazon, and those options beat the shit out of paying $90+ for 2 adults and 2 kids to go to a theater and buy 4 drinks and 2 popcorns (not exaggerating!). |

I go but prefer to go early shows. Anything near afternoon and dark is usually full of kids or people who talk through the entire movie. I used to be polite if I asked someone to not talk but after being threatened a few times. I either shhh fairly loud or say shut the fuck up rather loud. that seems to have less threats than being polite. Sometimes I will just move if not blocked in. The other thing is every motherfucker wants to play with the phone or talk on it instead of watching the movie.

NO. You obviously have not been to a real theater lately. I only go to Ipic, or Studio Movie Grill any more. Full service Bar, Menu, and very comfy seats. http://ww1.hdnux.com/photos/46/51/03/10129600/5/920x920.jpg View Quote |

You people must live in some shitty states.
Now, granted, there are very VERY few movies worth seeing in the theater, and I rarely go, but when I do there's never been anyone talking, cell phones going off, etc. |

I don't go to the movies anymore for two reasons: There is nothing worth watching in theatres, and I much to prefer to watch movies in my stranger-free living room, where I don't have to listen to people talk, watch them play on their phones, or feel them kick my seat.
Stop going to ghetto theaters and try the luxury ones where there's only a few people and the seats are all paired and recline and you can choose your seat. It's worth the extra $10 per ticket.

I actually like the local high end place with stadium seating. My personal preference is to never go but with 2 young daughters I had to change. They have had fun every time I took them.
Which is all that matters. Their dad may be a sociopathic misanthrope who loathes crowds but as long as they have a good time everything's OK. Which is all that matters. |
That's why we go to the balcony at our local Warren. Reserved seats, adult only, alcohol and food served at your seat, cell phone use strictly prohibited, heated seats. Yeah it's more money but that helps with the rif raf.
I used to go to see the retard kid who took the tickets. But they don't employ tards anymore so what's the point?
Never liked Deniro but his antics during the last election solidified my disdain for him. He's a crappy actor and a bad person.

Some movies - you just have to pony up the bucks to watch it in IMAX 3D for the first time...
Buy tickets online for the earliest showing sunday mornings, all the _____ are still hung over in bed or waiting for Star Bucks to open. |

I haven't been to a theater in +20 years ... since the cell phone became a thing.
I have been to one of the local drive ins where I have the privacy of my own Jeep to keep me insulated from the scum of society. |

It's something I'm working on but until I learn to handle my temper better, or they pull my right to be armed, I won't visit a public theater. |

I don't know what shitabulous ass ghetto theaters you go too but I never have any issues. For the most part I like watching movies from the comfort of my own home as I have a decent tv and sound system. However, the wife and I still like going to the movies every now and then. The prices are the biggest thing that keeps us away. For the price of tickets, popcorn, and drinks I could rent the movie and have a nice dinner and booze in the comfort of home without having to put pants on.

I'm the weird guy that goes to the theater by myself. I'll see two movies in a row back to back. Wife doesn't understand it.
I just don't want to be distracted or have people talking to me while I'm watching. The new giant screens they have now are impressive. So much better. I also have about 4 theaters within a short driving distance from my house. |
