I'm not a huge Glock guy, most of my go-to pistols are HKs, but I love my G43 and carry it often. I conceal it without issue but it could stand to be a little longer in the frame. I love how the 43 is slim and hugs right up against my side while carrying it. Doesn't stick out like the chubby 19/26. I for one would LOVE the shit out of a G19 sized gun (length wise) with the single-stack width dimensions of the G43. Seems like it would offer a good blend of capacity, shootability, and concealability.

If it was in .45 ACP and at least 8 rounds, that's my dream pistol.
|
|
no, only glock that interests me is G43, nothing else seems to be that small.
|
|
single stacks are stupid and you're better off carrying a double stack
|
|
No, but if Smith and wesson did, I'd be all over it. For reference, my authorized duty weapons are Smith 439, Smith 908, and Shield 9. I much prefer single stack pistols.

No because in general full size single stacks are almost always nearly as wide as a double stack. So I see no point. The advantage of 9mm is also capacity.

Hell yea. I wanted one for a loooong time. I ended up with a CW9 as my first dedicated carry gun 10 years ago. I currently carry a shield. I would love to have glock reliability in a compact single stack, no manual safety, striker-fired pistol that afforded me a full grip and a predictable trigger break.

They do. It's the Glock 36 45 ACP. And it's one of my favorites.

No. I can already get 10 in the 43 with extreme reliability. You should check out the roland special's little brother the rolandito. Close to the size of a single stack 19.
Now, if they'd make a 10mm with the same dimensions , I'd buy one. Longer grip than 36, no extensions. |

I'm a huge fan of 9mm Glocks, carry a Gen 4 G19 as my CCW. I got into guns during the AWB, after the sunset I bought enough G17 mags at $20 to last through my grandchildren's lives. Anyhoo, I like the double stack autos, and the fact that I can carry a compact pistol with full size pistol mags.
What I really want is a G19 frame with a G17 slide. The G19L. Make it happen Glock! |

Nope. In a sub-compact like the 43, there are advantages versus a G26, namely pocket carry. Once you start going bigger, those advantages drop off completely.
What would a G19 sized single stack hold? 9+1, maybe 10+1? What would be easier to conceal 10+1 rounds with for IWB or in a pocket, a G19 that is 1.02 inches wide, or a G26 that is 1.18? You would be loosing 5 rounds for a 0.16" difference in width. Unnecessary. |

I doubt it. I have a cw9 when I need a super concealable gun for certain dress codes.
1911 or beretta the rest of the time unless I'm around salt water where I'll carry my g19. |

The whole appeal of a 9mm is to have a sufficiently powerful fighting handgun cartridge in a fairly large quantity. Nobody took the 9mm seriously until the "wonder nines" started appearing on the scene back in the day. A single stack 9mm is a dumb idea. If you're going single stack capacity you're better off with a .45. Taking the one advantage the 9mm has over everything else and throwing it in the street is kind of pointless.

Why is everyone just talking dimensions when less weight from additional ammo is very significant? Most people don't have a proper gun belt as it is so, having your gun sagging off your ass constantly hiking up your drawers is a consideration.
|
|
No I wouldn't, I have no issues concealing a G17 so I have no need for it.

Why get a single stack G19 the G19 would barely be thicker and would be the more logical pistol to carry.

Lots of variables but it does seem guys who don't think a slim pistol is easier to carry are usually a bit heavy and/or not exactly active people. I pretty much carry a 19 slim now just don't have the benefit of the longer barrel and sight picture. I'd buy a 19 Slim with a 10+1 single stack mag and ditch my 26 that I never carry because if i'm going to deal with a thick double stack I'll just grab my 19. No noticeable difference in carrying a 26 to a 19 so the 26 is useless. Slim is the most important thing to men who are active carrying appendix in the warm months. https://s2.postimg.org/lun8belyx/IMG_3503.jpg View Quote And I understand the 26 vs 19 deal, but depending on your attire and belt or no belt, there is a weight difference between the 2. In shorts with no belt a 19 is kinda heavy. |
