Would he have founded a religion and been considered a Messiah?

Was watching Mindfreak the other day and it occured to me he did some impressive OT quality stunts.

With his seeming ability to levitate and such would he have given Moses and Jesus competition?

Certainly Mohammed didn't have anything that could remotely compete with Copperfield or Blaine and he has his own religion.

Would we talk of Angelic miracles and be Angelians?

mohommad has the promise of 72 hot chicks. That trumps any walking on water with us mortals.

Um, no, it's 72 Virgins. And if they died virgins and went to wherever they go, that must mean they are damn ugly. Hot chicks don't die virgins.

Would we talk of Angelic miracles and be Angelians?

Quite possibly. Wouldn't be any different than most of the other religions that have been created during mankind's existance

That whole levitating thing is some kind of mechanical device that straps to his body. The question is would he have had the technology available at that point in time to make his device and be able to impress people enough to follow him without seeing through his BS ? Or would the people have wanted to believe in Criss Angel so bad that they wouldn't care if his tricks had logical explanations ?

SteyrAUG, you can buy the same device on the net and levitate all day long and be a potential god also .

You can buy the DVD and find out. www.ellusionist.com/order/Criss-Angel-Levitation-DVD.htm?cat=%7BCATEGORY%20ID%7D

Maybe some kind of lever, hydraulics, etc. Not really sure. If you do a search you will see that you can buy his how-to video at most magic places. From all the reviews and descriptions it is just some kind of device that is concealed and makes it look like your feet are coming off the ground.

Can't be the same thing.

The guy got almost 2 feet off the deck and didn't use a cropped TV shot like Blaine did.

My friend can do the levitating trick. There's nothing special about it. I can't remember how to do it, but it has to do with foot positioning and it's an optical illusion.

If he had been trying this stuff 2,000 years ago:

1. He woudln't have had the technology to pull some of it off.
2. Depending on where he lived, he could either have been reverred or despised.
3. Most likely he would have been just as annoying as he is now, and would have been killed.
4. Once killed, he would have stayed in the friggin' tomb.....

So, basically, the answers to your questions is "No".
