I don't have a lot to add other than to say this: I've lost a few very close people to suicide, and I was on that edge myself 20 years ago. I know exactly how it feels, and I know the consequences for those left behind. If anyone here ever needs to talk, or if anyone in middle TN just needs to hang out and air stuff out, shoot me an IM and I'll give you my number or meet up.

Since I usually come here for the lulz of GD and lets face it there usually are some....its a hell of a good break for me to laugh every now and then. Right now my job sucks and its affecting me pretty good and my wife sees it, which lets all face it aint good news. But I do have Arf and GD to make me laugh and forget about the bullshit at work that weighs on me that I bring home sometimes. I have a great family, a loving wife, 3 great dags and several very close friends for support. I may hate it somedays and it may depress me but I get up and do it again anyway cause I need to face life and all it throws at me.
I may be a bit of a hot mess somedays but if I can ever help anyone please let me know. Thanks EdSr for this place. Merry Christmas Arfcom. 2012 is gonna be a much better year. |

I have been there and back several times. I have a few tricks that my 50 years of life on this rock has taught me.
First, remember, it is never as bad as it seems. Second, things always change for the better eventually. Third, you have an important place in this world to the people around you. Fourth, you are not alone in your struggle. You might feel trapped, but you are not. A year ago, I was on the ledge. A job change, a heart to heart with my loved ones, a health challenge turned me around. Take your life apart and put it back the way you want it. Delete chemicals that are not prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner. Exercise. Eat right. Improvise, adapt, and overcome. Be proud of yourself. I am available for anyone at anytime that wants to talk, or needs a favor. I owe you guys. Thank you. |

I have been to the edge and was done, years ago. I found life again and can't put into words how glad I am for it. No details are needed for this post, but anyone that just wants insufferable pain to end regarding sexual abuse is welcome to contact me. I want nothing from anyone other than an opportunity to help someone caught in that nightmare of not wanting to wake up.
Mr. Avilla thank you for offering to coordinate this for the benefit of members here. For the record, I'm good thirty years later. The sad fact is that some folks reach that point with no warning and they are the most dangerous to themselves. They are serious about the solution as were I. Anyone reading this thread that has a problem is welcome to contact me. I have been to a place that I wish upon nobody. Life after that is full of unexpected abilities to help people. Dealing with the hand you've been dealt can be a real motherfucker, but someone wins in the end. |

One of my troops woke up a couple months ago and shot himself. No note, no outward signs of depression. Just woke up, reached over to his nightstand and did it. He had a pretty amazing life for a single dude. Just goes to show that it can hit anyone. Don't be afraid to reach for help any where you can get it.
