Idiot #1: A shaved-headed Fu-Manchu-mustache'd leather jacket wearing biker type wearing his "Corrections Officer" badge on his leather biker jacket and his jail I.D. around his neck on a chain.

Idiot(s) #2,3,4: Banger/wigger/meximullet with cornrows walking around asking everyone carrying any AWish rifle or parts (I was carrying an upper) "Yo dawg you wants to sell dat?"

Idiot #5: guy with a sandwich board style sign on his body that read Hang All Traitors Now! then went on to list George H.W. Bush, G.W., Kerry, Ronald Reagan, and Tony Blair(!)...and was carrying an Airsoft MP5 for sale for $400

What show was this?
Link Posted: 10/31/2004 2:39:09 PM EDT
That's awesome. Half the fun of gun shows are some of the creatures that show up.

I figured my grammer was bad enough. I'm working on the corn rows.

I wish we could get some excitement like that at our local gunshows....lately ours have sounded like crickets on a cool, quiet evening. Very boring with no deals.

Bingo. I never go to em myself. I have to hear you guys stories.

Yes you do run into some freeks now and then but most people at the gun shows are decent family types. You can run into wierdos any where.

I feel like I have been missing out.

I have been to exactly three gunshows in my life.

Overpriced crap, but none of the "personality."

Get your wife any jewelry or candles. My 11 year old and 13 year old daughters go with me to one show every year to buy jewelry because it is too expensive in the stores and at the jewelry show.

At the Valley Forge Gun Show in PA, where they pack it in,I always seem to get hit with the SILENT, BUT DEADLY FARTERS and the BODY ODOR. I'd be happy to see nutjobs you get than deal with these STINKERS.

You have got to be kidding me. The cowboy biker in the black leather trench coat was not there with his gun show whore girlfriend that has long since hit the wall and regularly mistakes wide belts for skirts.

Not too many idiots I see at the Texas Gun Shows.......just a very few scary looking dudes with baaggy pants, big ugly tatoos, and gold chains to match their gold teeth. It especially disturbed me to see them at the tables of those selling guns privately......if you know what I mean.

I miss shows like that.

I drove to the Panama City show Saturday - I spent more time driving then at the show. What a let down - I'm not sure there were even 50 tables! I did buy some overpriced Jerky, though - it's tradition.

There were still plenty of people to make fun of, but just not in the amounts I prefer.

Oh, and I drank heavily Friday night - so I WAS the "silent but deadly" guy at that show .

I've got the Ventura Co. gun show next weekend, and the Orange County CA on Thanksgiving weekend. Haven't been to the OC show before. Gunshow reports to follow.

Yeah i saw those guys too. =\

I told them to buzz off (most litteraly, thats what i said), they didnt take to kindly to it. I believe the term "racist honkey" was used.

But did you notice that there was A LOT of airsoft stuff there?

People that I have seen at gunshows (NOT "special guests")

David Allan Coe (looking at a knife - 'cause he's a convict)

G. Gordon Liddy (three times now, he's a regular at the big show in Tulsa each year)

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith - no shi'ite (there with the wife and kiddo's - his in-law's live in Tulsa)

and loads and loads of former Navy SEALS! I wonder why all retired SEALS are vendors on the gun show circuits?)

The people watching is so awesome though--I often go just for that. The BO can be bad...

I love the people who dress up. What kind of weird fantasy lives do they have? These are *REAL* guns, folks. Mostly harmless, I guess, but wow!

I think they should take aspiring business school students to gun shows to illustrate how bad businessmen operate. Out of the dozens of dealers at the shows I go to, there are only like one or two I will actually buy anything from.

And Kettle Korn?

And lots of plumbers' butt, buttcracks extraordinaire, from really overweight guys who never bathe/shave?

I hate going to gun shows - the prices are too high anyway.

Link Posted: 10/31/2004 4:21:07 PM EDT
The influx of security officers at the shows, wearing there tactical gear and badges are funny. Must be off duty WallyWorld cops.
Link Posted: 10/31/2004 4:22:18 PM EDT
I know one guy, the only time he does shower is when he works at a gun show! The water pressure / hot water at the motel is probably much better than at his house!

Indy shows are huge - they always get a wide variety of characters.

Don't forget the fucker that cleans eyeglasses or the juice man
Link Posted: 10/31/2004 4:29:56 PM EDT
SCARRY thing is that these idiots own ,or can buy a gun.

Are you kidding? Have the fun is checking out the freak shows...

Heh. The Virginia gun shows have a low idiot population in my experience. At the last one, the worst was a guy selling some "miracle glue! It's cyanoacrylate, but it's different from superglue! Honest!" I got a post-sunset rifle there... for $800, a Bushmaster no less. The prebans topped out at $1000 if they were in pristine condition, more if they were special (like the Colt LMG upper with the square handguards and heavy barrel, $1200, no lower unfortunately, and you would have to replace the internals to be compliant). The worst that ever happened was a guy that tried to sell me a regular CZ-52 with original barrel as 9mm. Moved on.

Or it could have been the guy that sold me an M91/30 for $100. I thought it was a good deal, though, so it was me who was the stupid one. Now the bore's rusted out.
