Holy shit! Crazy stuff and not far from where I live.

Ice aint no joke.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 12:52:22 PM EST
Damn, that was rough.

We had ice at 0500 but rain by 0800, ice gone.
At 10, son stepped out door and feet shot out, 4 foot fall onto sidewalk.
Had refroze.

Calling for mid 50s today mid 60s tomorrow, but still right at freezing.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 12:56:32 PM EST
Holy crap! That happened fast!
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 12:58:12 PM EST
Weather does not cause accidents, people driving too fast etc for conditions does.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 12:58:27 PM EST
Is that the thinnest vertical video that's ever been recorded?

Couldn't see a thing.

OP, it believe it was the driver that caused that truck to flip.

No driver, truck just sits there, no hu-hu.

Link Posted: 12/17/2016 1:04:27 PM EST
Yo!
Oh my god YO.

YO!

Pretty crazy. If people would slow down a bit when they need to things would turn out a bit better.

Especially for the driver.

Damn! That guy wrecked twice today!!!

Pipelines must be really unsafe if this is the preferred option.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 1:06:23 PM EST
The thread title is not factual. "Driving too fast for conditions cause fuel truck to flip and explode...." would be the correct way to put it.

And sometimes "driving too fast for conditions" means anything over 5 mph
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 1:06:54 PM EST
Damn Southerners don't know how to drive.

In all seriousness, my prayers go out to the dead and injured.

Headline should be asshole driving to fast for road conditions

I'm waiting out the weather in northern Indiana. Fuck a bunch of ice and snow.

This.

All my years of running wreckers has jaded the shit out of me.People are stupid.

We get plenty of warnings for this shit, and people still go out in it.And they still drive like it's dry roads.

I can't count the number of people that were going for coffee or going to get cigarettes when the roads are shit and zero visibility in zero degree weather and they are dressed for a day around the house.

Damn slacker Darwin.........

You'll still need trucks to haul to end user. Pipelines aren't going to gas stations, construction sites, factory yards, trucking terminals, and farms to name just a few.

Cousin is BCFD and responded to that. Said the driver of the tanker was one of the 2 DOA, so you're right. He won't do that again.

We usually get plenty of warning about ice storms/ bad road conditions but this time we did not which is very unusual for our area.

Sounds about right for most of the esteemed citizens of Baltimore City.

On a side note, I definitely read that in your avatars voice

No it doesn't. If speed killed, there would be no jet pilots or Indy 500 drivers or astronauts.

Careless driving kills and road conditions kill and people using guns kill.

Deepest apologies, you are correct. So correct in fact, that I shall reiterate:

It's really simple, just slow down, no one seems to be able to do that.
I don't care how much time you have driving in this kind of mess.
So sorry for the loss of life.
