Holy shit! Crazy stuff and not far from where I live.
Ice aint no joke. |
|
We had ice at 0500 but rain by 0800, ice gone.
At 10, son stepped out door and feet shot out, 4 foot fall onto sidewalk. Had refroze. Calling for mid 50s today mid 60s tomorrow, but still right at freezing. |
|
Weather does not cause accidents, people driving too fast etc for conditions does.
|
|
Is that the thinnest vertical video that's ever been recorded?
Couldn't see a thing. |

My folks live in Baltimore. My mom texted me about this earlier.
<-----drives an 18 wheeler (not a tanker though)... fuck icy roads. |

Holy crap! That happened fast! <img src=http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> View Quote It happened fast because the idiot didn't know enough to slow down on ice--while being pushed by thousands of gallons of highly flammable liquid. I bet he won't do that again. |

OP, it believe it was the driver that caused that truck to flip.
No driver, truck just sits there, no hu-hu. |
|
Yo!
Oh my god YO. YO! Pretty crazy. If people would slow down a bit when they need to things would turn out a bit better. |
|
|
Pipelines must be really unsafe if this is the preferred option.
|

The thread title is not factual. "Driving too fast for conditions cause fuel truck to flip and explode...." would be the correct way to put it.

Damn Southerners don't know how to drive.
In all seriousness, my prayers go out to the dead and injured. |
|
Headline should be asshole driving to fast for road conditions
|
|
I'm waiting out the weather in northern Indiana. Fuck a bunch of ice and snow.

We get plenty of warnings for this shit, and people still go out in it.And they still drive like it's dry roads. I can't count the number of people that were going for coffee or going to get cigarettes when the roads are shit and zero visibility in zero degree weather and they are dressed for a day around the house. Damn slacker Darwin......... |

Said the driver of the tanker was one of the 2 DOA, so you're right. He won't do that again. |

The roads were littered with wrecks last night. The roads had just enough ice to make the surface smooth, and on the interstate the ice built despite the heavy traffic. My little side road had sand and calcium chloride dumped on thick, so the last two miles were fairly easy until I got to the hill at the entrance to the subdivision. Slick, but there was a team of Santas waiting to push cars that lost traction.

"Yo" is such a powerfully meaningful and expressive word, isn't it...

Judging from the explosion and mayhem I can say with certainty that is Southern Ice.

It's really simple, just slow down, no one seems to be able to do that.
I don't care how much time you have driving in this kind of mess. So sorry for the loss of life. |
