Book was dick.
We shouldn't be there, but we should be there, but we shouldn't be there. He couldn't decide so I couldn't care. The next book, Sum of All Fears, is worlds better from a literary perspective, although it has a bit less action. Movies have all been dick except for the first one. By any cinematic standard, the ending of Patriot Games was one of the worst ever filmed. |

My take was that it's a complex question that he wasn't trying to answer - cause it's political. He leaves it to the reader to decide. |
