Just received it in the mail.

Should I be honored? or does everyone get this as a ploy by the NRA to get more money?

Fancy certificate, I do gotta say.

I wish the NRA would take my $35.00 a year and just keep ALL of it.

No magazine.

No mailings.

Just use the money (all of it) to do good.

I get enough benefit being able to shoot in local and national events by being an NRA member, I do not need anything else.

If anyone from the NRA is listening, take note.

Wow,

Trash.
I already gave them about $450 this year so I would think they got the hint.
Got a book, though.

NRA is always seeking money.  Even a cheesy .02 cent certificate will work for some.....i guess.

It's both.  You should be honored that you helped preserve our rights with your money.

I got a video from the NRA earlier this year and I threw it in the trash because about a year ago I notified them to stop sending me unsolicited mailings.  About a month later I get a letter from the NRA and open it up instead of throwing it in the trash and they notify me that I have neglected to pay for the video they sent me, send the video back or pay for it.  I got on the phone and WTFO.

I didn't have to pay for it but then I get a statement in the mail that says my dues are past due.  WTF, I paid for 5 years just a year ago.  They need to knock the bullshit off.  The constant money grubbing really pisses me off.  I used to send in extra and also donated through payroll deductions every 2 weeks to the NRA legal defense fund and the Eddie Eagle program but did not donate this year as I was too pissed off over the video bill and the attempt to get me to pay twice for dues.

No need to guess.  In the past few decades that the NRA has used mass mailings to generate donations, only one single mailing failed to net a profit for them - and that one was messed up by the DC-area postal anthrax scare.

Bottom line:  They are annoying, but they work.

A big +1 to this, someone gets it.

There is probably a pragmatic solution (I believe they have a "limited mailing" list), but the NRA's current system DOES work.

It is for a good deal on a Lifetime membership, I think it is $450.00

If you dont want the mailings or phone calls.
Call the NRA and let them know, they will take your name and put you on the list of limited mailings

I seriously get something from them about 2 or 3 times a week.  Has anyone gotten the NRA sample holiday cards in the mail yet?  Yeah, I got that a few weeks ago.  And guess what came yesterday.  ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE THE ONE I GOT A FEW WEEKS AGO.  Why are they blowing money sending the same shit twice?

As a life member, my "Legion of Honor" came with the opportunity to upgrade to endowment member for $175.

If it wasn't for the gay "Legion of Honor" crap and my absolute unwillingness to support such a ply, I would gladly upgrade.  I am tired of the gay ass bullshit.

"in celebration of your leadership n helping to preserve these values..."  BITE ME.  All they know about me is that I am an NRA member.  I hate cheesy marketing ploys, and wish the NRA was above it.

A nice, one page letter acknowledging that I have been a life member for some time and offering a status upgrade at a discount would have worked.  This crap will not.
