Long story short...

Several years ago I worked for a union shop. I lost all respect for the union environment when I learned that a percentage of my union dues were contributed to Democrats... The effort to stop this was futile, and without effect. I was eventually laid-off and my position was filled by a less qualified, under-acheiver dirtball who had more seniority than I had. The majority of the plant was staffed with decent people, but those who were most able to benefit from the union were the lazy useless fucks, elderly, and minorities throughout the company.
So that's my history with the union... (So I thought)

Since my lay-off in Jan '02, I've received dozens and dozens of "Steel Labor" news letters, and countless Democrat campaign flyers.
Being frustrated and angry over all this garbage in my mailbox, I sent this email to the Pittsburgh union headquarters:

From: Dragracerart
To: <[email protected]>
Subject: Steelabor mailing list.
Date: Tue, 25 May 2004 12:29:28 -0400

Please REMOVE my name and address from your "Steelabor" mailing list. I'm sick and tired of seeing this Liberal Democrat garbage in my mailbox. Unions suck, and are good for nothing but promoting laziness, and protecting jobs for minorities and unqualified individuals. I haven't been employed by a union shop in over 3 years, and will NEVER work in a union environment again. Nothing like paying union dues, and having them distrubuted/donated to a communist/democrat political campaign.

I suppose I probably could have worded it better...

Anyway...

The latest pile of junk mail from them now has MY WIFE'S NAME on it, in addition to mine. Some is addressed directly to her, some to me, and some to both....
The mail all originates from the same place, so I'm inclined to think someone is making a concious effort to do this... How else did my wife's name get on the literature ??? She's NEVER worked for a union. She hasn't even held a job for several years...
I know some unions like to employ mob tactics, and harass companies, individuals, etc....

Is someone trying to fuck with me ???
Am I being paranoid ?

I understand some union guys have had a good experience with organized labor... To date I have NOT, and refuse to work for a union shop.

Just looking for some input, or constructive criticism...

How do I get these fuckers out of my mailbox and off my back ? (Before I "go postal" on them)

Why not let them waste their (the workers) money?

Start using the prepaid envelopes to mail shit back to them.

Everything I get from them is in the form of a newsletter/newspaper, or political flyers...
Nothing to send back or I would have....

Good for starting fires in the fireplace?

Could box it all up, when you get enough, have the dog piss on it, and drop it off at a local union headquarters.

If they are nearby (meaning within 100 miles) I would accumulate it for a while, then drive to their facility and drop it on THROW IT ALL OVER the floor, saying, "I specifically asked you to not send this crap to me."  After a few times, even the most dedicated Socialist will catch on.

Fixed it for ya.

sounds like the union i was in when i worked for the local county jail. only good it was for was to get perks for the local union steward. all complaints went unheeded or was told i shouldn't work there cause i made waves.

I thought a mob tactic was more along the lines of what I see on the Sopranos.

computer printed mailing labels make it easy

I know exactly what you mean....

I definitly didn't fit-in that union shop...
I usually had more work done in one hour than most of my co-workers did the whole shift...

"That's not my job"  is a common and well used phrase in a union shop...

Anywheres around Pittsburg? Been working in the steel industry for a month and a half now and hate it just as much. I beleive unions to have been good to correct wrongs, but I now see them as creating wrongs. Hate my job and the union and hate the fact I am a wage whore.

Art, I'd say just let it come and keep throwing it out.  The fact is it costs them to print that crap and mail it to you, so why try to save them money?  They'll just use it to fund the political career of another gun-banning democrat.  Let them waste money sending you their crap and use the scrap paper for the fireplace.

BTW - sorry you didn't make it to Paul's - we gotta get together soon and burn some ammo.

Just remember...Everything the union sends helps support the USPS and therefore delays the next postal increase.

I have also "heard" that IF one had a postage paid envelope...and one attached it to something REALLY HEAVY(like a brick)...then the party paying the postage would be paying a lot of postage and further supporting the USPS and therefore delaying the next postal increase.

I have also heard one can mark post items..."return to sender."   Good Luck

I  actually got a union handout a few days ago saying how Kerry would protect our second ammendment rights along with union familys. My non-union, republican supervisor threw them all away, I suspect. But then again, since he beleives the law should translate the constitution, mabey he actually is pro RKBA.

Cocksucking unions...  They're idea of 'careful consideration of our offer' was to destroy our job site to try and get us to see it their way...  Unions are the root of all evil in America and a breeding ground for Democrats.
fuckers, I'm sorry but if you're in the Carpenters union you should be shot.  This is coming from quite a bit of personal experience, by the way....

Where I work they want everyone to get equal "merit pay" increases.  Merit pay where I work is used to keep good employees from leaving.  If it's distributed equally then the lousy workers get a nice raise and the good workers get no incentive to stay.  I don't mind a smaller salary since I work for the .gov but I do mind AFSCME making things worse while they write $10 mill checks to Kerry and Dean.
