Da'Wookie...

I keep a small flock of chickens at my parent's farm for eggs and entertainment.
Had 7 hens last year, added 4 more this year.
I bought one Black Jersey Giant and named her Da'Wookie.

But she's grown into a damn fine looking bird.

I apologize for blurry cell phone pic.

Always a bad idea to name food.

We always named our farm animals. It just made it easier to call them in to the slaughter.

Yeah, it's a lot harder to choke your chicken once you've named it.

I luv me some chickens, had a bunch of them in CA.

My S.O. says no to chickens, she had to raise and kill em as a young girl and is dead set against having them in the yard despite the fact we have nearly 4 acres..

Since she is the minister of BJs I cannot veto her ruling.

Fine looking bird, I added 12 hens to my dwindling flock this year, two are Jersey Giants.  Lost my White Leghorn rooster this weekend, hoping one of my Jerseys is a male, they make awesome guards.
