Yea i like subways and eat there alot.
If you want to loose the weight, then ditch the cheese/mayo from your sandwich. Also ditch the soda. |
nice I have been doing that lately but I broke it off today when I had a meal at BK...Oh well for dinner Im having sardines and saltines...
I once lost 30 pounds doing that. Gained it all back when I got absolutely friggin tired of eating sandwiches all the time.
I eat too damn much, and the beer doesn't help. |
I used to work at Subway
I just wish they put more shit on the sandwiches. |
+1 I like quizno's a lot more. |
I wish I had a convenient subway. The only one close has a tiny parking lot.
Most of them do. Dunno why either. |
I've been buying a lot of sammiches from them lately. Do they REALLY have any noticable impact on weight after a while without exercise? That just seems fishy to me if somebody made that claim.
Beers fattening?????? |
I agree that I like eating quizno's a lot more. But I hate spending $13 on a meal there. With all that said though, and am going to put a huge period on the end of this name. Potbelly's. If you have not eaten there, go, order a "wreck" thank me. If you never have heard of them or do not have them in your area, I pity you, you poor poor soul. |

WTF! I thought beer was one of the four basic food groups?! |
How can you afford that? You'd be saving a ton of money by fixing your own sandwhiches and they'd probably be better for you.
Patty |
Sounds expensive.
wy the F get pop and chips if you're trying to loose weight, that's dumb? |
Yay, $8 sandwiches. Seriously, the last "combo" at Quiznos hit me up for over $8. WTF? |
Quoted:
I'm only eating subway for the next 5 days Subway? Why not just eat cardboard? Its the same thing and cheaper. |
skip the bread and have diet soda instead, then you will lose weight even faster!
A club (hold the mayo, cheese and oil) with a bag of baked Lays and a diet Coke is actually pretty low on Calories. It works, but man...you get really tired of eating sandwiches real quick. |
WTF is "pop"? Yes. I went there. |
+1 For the price of 2 meals at subway you can eat all week on homemade sandwiches. |
A combo at Subway with a 12" sub is a least $6 probably more like $7. I'll spend the extra $1 for edible food.
BTW Quiznos has 2.99 small subs just like Subway does.

that's my problem how do you play cards and not have beer? how do you cool off after mowing the yard without a beer? I can't stomach that ultra-light ghey beer...I'd rather drink Britney Spear's crotch run-off. |
A beverage that compliments chili with beans. |
I'm getting paid 20$ a day to watch my brothers house and do errands. Just got back from dropping off his sucky POS dodge caliber Rental to get his Saturn, then got something on the way back. I'm still up 15$ |
At least light beer won't give you the clap. |
Subway always leaves me hungry for more.
their 12 inch sandwiches only whet my appetite. Now I'm hungry! |
Amen to that!! |
5 days at subway X $7~/daily for lunch = $35
--------------------------------------------------- Wheat bread loaf- $1 Nicley cut meats from deli- $4-8 lb. Assorted veggies- $2 Low fat dressing- $2 Drink- Water! $0.25 /gal. So we'll be generous and call it $15- It would be a lot cheaper buying groceries and preparing your own meals. Choose exactly what and how much you want. But if you really want to lose weight, curb the starchy bread all together. I guess it comes down to taking the time to shop, 15minutes, and time to prepare, 1 minute daily. But would you rather have: 1. subway for 5 days or 2. own sammichs and lets say, 2 new ar15 magazines? |
A Fine Point Sir! I'll use this next time the SO gets on to me for the "fattening" beers. |

The Subway diet is sheer genius.
Typical overweight person trys it, starts with a 6" turkey sub without cheese or mayo. Then, a week later they start pounding a foot long meatball with double cheese everyday, fooling themselves into thinking it is diet food. |
Where the heck are you shopping? Any of the grocery stores around here have the absolute cheapest ham, on sale at maybe, MAYBE $4.99 a lb. Typical ham is $6.99, roast beef 7.99-9.99, turkey 7.99, and cheeses are about the same as beef. I sure as heck could not make 5 days worth of sandwiches with one pound of generic ham. I went to the store and got meat and cheese to make sandwiches for a week and I left the deli counter with about a $27 bill |
I only spend $4.29 at Subway for lunch. X5= $21.45 and don't have to drink water and I get chips. Sounds like a better deal to me. |
Local store is: turkey 4.99 and up ham 4.99 and up roast beef 6.99 and up cheese is around 5, dont buy it often, so i dont exactly know And that's the deli meat. And one could go the route of pre packages, processed lunch meats for 4 a pound. My grocery store has them on sale right now for 3.99/lb, normally 4.99/lb, but it's just like eating salt so I don't bother. But it is another option. obviously the better stuff is more expensive. but it's resonable. Also I shop at a mom and pop Italian deli shop that has very good prices. The op's goal is to lose weight by eating subway 5x a week. So that's 5 lunches. And if he wants to lose weight 1 lb of lunch meat should suffice for 5 lunchs. Unless he makes 3-4 sandwiches per meal, which would defeat his goal. But 1/5 lb per sandwich is plenty enough. And if that's not enough, he could certainly add an apple, orange, banana, can of yogurt, almonds, etc to complete his meal. |

Like anything else, the key should be moderation (I write this as I am eating a jumbo chocolate chip cookie) However I am on weight watchers, and know that I can indead eat a cookie, because I know how many points it is, I just have to cut out something later for dinner. I HIGHLY recomend weight watchers.
I also drink cherry zero, and to me it tastes like the real thing. Good luck though |
Guess I am just jaded from living in Northern Virginia. Everyone here except for me and my friends, are multi-billionaires. |
If you don't go to one that is run by indians, they put a lot more on there. Just about every small town Subway I have been to, they put a good amount of stuff on the sammich. |
+1 Also make sure you get only wheat bread not white bread. If you really want to drop weight and prep for the sandbox start jogging in sweat pants and sweatshirt in the middle of the afternoon. You'll sweat your butt off and shed pounds pretty fast. |
It's what "the Beav" called Ward, silly |
Quizno's is sooo much better. |
My usual
6" Ham and Turkey Wheat Bread American Cheese Banana Peppers Jalapenos Onios Vinegar. It's yummy (I get it on mondays because it's $2.50 for ham and turkey) |
I think I'd want to hang myself after eating Subway for a week.
I went to subway today and spent $2.75 on the 6" daily special.
6" sub and a big glass of water will hold me over for about 2-3 hours until I can get another 200-300 cals in me to hold me over before dinner. I love grazing. |
I'm going to see what the local subway has for specials. |
