OMG.  How did it happen?  Very sorry for your loss.  It is only natural to dwell on these things.  You need to find something that will remind you of the good times you guys had, and know that he is in a better place now.  Don't feel guilty because you are alive and he isn't.  It can lead you down dark paths.

Be with friends and family right now - it will help pull you through.

His kidneys failed and he seemed to be okay after tests, so they let him come home for the day after being in the hospital for a week. His brothers went to school and his mom went to work and his older brother found him dead when he came home,

Jesus Christ.  What a sad thing to happen.  14 is too early to go.

Take care of yourself and your family.  I'm sure your sister really needs you right now.

Can’t help… Only time will help.

My nephew was killed in a car wreck 12 years ago I cried for a week. The when I went back to work I was able to keep my mind off of it until I went home… I don’t think I missed a day when I didn’t cry at some point for 3 months. I still miss him everyday and still cry from time to time.

As bad as it is for you it is much worse for his parents.

It will hurt less… but not for awhile.

God Bless

My eleven year old nephew was murdered by a 14 year old with his grandfathers pistol. Hardest funeral I've ever went to. It was over nothing as well and it was on purpose for sure. Time will take the edge off and be strong for your family.

I am very sorry to here about your loss, when my cousin was 8 he was hit by a drunk driver in front of his house. He was playing catch with his older brother and ran out to the street after the ball. Driver hit im and kept going. The only thing you can do is realize that he is in a much better place now and has no more pain. Try this song... When I get Where I am Going by Brad Paisley. It will make you cry but will help. It helped just recently when I lost a friend last week.

Btw...my dad has kidney failure and is waiting on a transplant.

My heart goes out to you Hugh.  I've lost three siblings and time is the only thing that takes the pain away.  Just remember the good times you've had, realize that there are people that are praying for you, and do your best to find other things to do to give your mind a break from everything.

You and your family are in my thoughts....hang in there.
When things like this happen we often try to find the meaning in it all.
Best advice I can give is to be patient and let time provide that answer.

Be strong.

Thanks so much guys. I know he's in a better place but it's so hard to understand why. It's so hard to do the what ifs, you know? Especially since thigs were looking up for him that morning. If only someone had stayed home with him...

Rremember him as young and happy. Cherish that forever. No one can take it. Be strong when necessary, and strong enough to cry when it's right.
