Can't wait I'm taking a two day defensive shotgun class.  I'll do a follow up post after saturday.

And I'm taking this:

Whats up with the rounds in the side saddle......2 up, 2 down?

BA, or body armor, is also a way to help soak up some recoil.

Also, don't wait until your thumb hurts (from loading) before you tape it up.  Tape early, tape often.  (alternately, you could smooth and round the front of the loading gate).

I was hoping that the Knoxx comp stock would help out in that area.  They told me to bring 500rds of Buckshot 50 slugs and 50 #6 Bird shot.  I'm expecting to be sore.

Let us know what you think of Sig Academy. I've thought about going there, it's within realistic driving distance, well at least in the warmer months.

Yeah I thought it would be a good place to start; considering it is the next town over.  Well the company is the next town west but the range is actually two towns west.

Both my father and a friend have attended the Sig Arms Academy, they reccomend it highly.

Is that a Scattergun Technologies "Remington Steal" package?

Bing Kneepads and elbowpads. Last shotgun academy I went to we shot 20 rounds slug PRONE at 50 yards.
Fun fun fun

This shotgun started its life as a 28" remington 870 supermag.  Then I installed the mossberg 18.5 barrel, the tac star mag extension, tac star side saddle, the DD sling adapter, and a Knoxx comp stock to finish it all off.  I was thinking about ghost rings next.

How long ago? It seems like I heard rumors of some kind of change in management or operations there, but could just be some BS I read on some website (ahem)

Two years ago.

Better you than me!

I went through the S&W Academy’s 5-day shotgun course many years ago and I think I’m still sore!!

I’ve defiantly decided I’m an AR kinda guy.  (Plus in my view the advent of bad guys with body armor has changed things anyway.)

I wouldn’t mind trying some of Sigarms Academy’s other courses, except that’d require me traveling through Massachusetts.  And I’d just as soon never find myself in that state again!!

Still, an after-action report would be appreciated!
