Huckabee is seriously climbing in the polls. Between love for him, Rudy, Obama and Hillary this country is fucked.

He's the leader in Iowa which is historically one of the two most important states in the primaries.

I'm calling Huck to win Iowa with Romney to win new Hampshire and Romney to go on and win the nomination.

Huckabee ain't a bad choice. He did good in the debates.

I pretty much equally like all the Republican candidates except for Giuliani.

and which one isn't? (Besides RP)
there's no real point in voting, all you get is differing levels of socialism
bad, really bad, or horrible
and that's in the "republicans" (I put that in quotes, because there's no way any of these CS'ers are Republicans)

some are socialists that'll sign an awb, some are not. Ron Paul isn't a liar. He admits all his crackpot ideas. But other than him, you're right, they're all liars

Really?

When did Huckabee start advocating the government ownership of the means of production, the elimination of private property, standardized pay scales for all professions in order to eliminate income inequality and the abolishment of religion?

Can you fill us in on the bad things he did as govenor. I hear many complaints about his inaction, but little about bad actions.

Did he ban assault weapons or high cap mags?

Did he ban 50cals?

Did he impliment a waiting period?

Did he ban lead ammo?

Did he ban "saturday night specials"?

Did he raise the state sales tax?

Did he raise vehicle registration fees?

Did he raise hunting license fees?

Did he give drivers licenses to illegals?

Did he pardon convicted rapists/murders?

Did he block the deployment of national guard troops to Iraq?

Seriously, fill us in on the bad things he did.

It took the popularity of untermenschen like those guys and this late in your life (2007) to realize that this country is fucked?

From Huckabees website:

The Second Amendment is primarily about tyranny and self-defense, not hunting. The Founding Fathers wanted us to be able to defend ourselves from our own government, if need be, and from all threats to our lives and property.

Second Amendment rights belong to individuals, not cities or states.

I oppose gun control based on geography.

I consistently opposed banning assault weapons and opposed the Brady Bill.

As Governor, I protected gun manufacturers from frivolous law suits.

I was the first Governor in the country to have a concealed handgun license.

And yet he doesn't own a gun per his own mouth.

I'll have to admit he has come right out and said he is anti-AWB which is FAR better than McCain, Rudy or Romney.

If Fred Doesn't get the nomination and Huckabee does, I'll vote for Huckabee. I will not enjoy it, but he has the correct position on the 2A. I have stated many times on this site that I will NEVER vote for Rudy, McCain or Romney.

Huckabee begs for new taxes.

He puts his faith before reason.

He believes the earth is 6,000 years old.

He's got more scandals back in Arkansas than you can shake a stick at.

He is exactly what Karl Rove's plan has brought on. This is 'compassionate conservatism' brought to its logical conclusion.

Huckabee WILL raise taxes in order to pay for NEW social programs.

Think big spending, big taxing democrat with a Christian veneer.

Can you fill us in on the bad things he did as govenor. I hear many complaints about his inaction, but little about bad actions.

Did he ban assault weapons or high cap mags? nope

Did he ban 50cals? nope

Did he impliment a waiting period? nope

Did he ban lead ammo? nope

Did he ban "saturday night specials"? nope

Did he refuse to consider the castle doctrine, the stand your ground law, and increased reciprocity? Yes
Did he raise the state sales tax? Taxes went up 37% while he was in office

Did he raise vehicle registration fees? Just the sales tax on used vehicles

Did he raise hunting license fees? Not that I'm aware of

Did he give drivers licenses to illegals? so far just instate tuition and state college grants

Did he pardon convicted rapists/murders? yes, at least one of which went on to rape and kill again, his reason for the pardon? He thought the sentence was to tough because he was convicted under the clinton administration, and Dumonds first victim was a relative of Clinton

Did he block the deployment of national guard troops to Iraq? nope

Seriously, fill us in on the bad things he did.
There's more.

I thought in the debates he admitted to owning a gun, and the only that didn't were Giuliani and some other guy.

As for guns - he did absolutely nothing. It wasn't until his predecessor got in (Democrat Mike Bebee) that some good stuff happened - Bebee (IIRC) signed CCW repricocity as one of his first major laws - he's a very Pro-Gun Democrat (read: Dixiecrat).

Did he raise the state sales tax?

I think so - Huckabee was known for raising taxes. If it wasn't sales tax, then it was income tax. He had to have money for his socialist programs like ARKids First, his BMI in teh schools program, etc.

Did he raise vehicle registration fees?
Did he raise hunting license fees?
Did he give drivers licenses to illegals?
I don't remember on this stuff - could be yes, could be no.

Did he pardon convicted rapists/murders?
Yes - lookup Wayne Dumond
Did he block the deployment of national guard troops to Iraq?
Not that I recall
Seriously, fill us in on the bad things he did.

Huckabee is a socialist and just an annoying person in general.

Let me tell you this - having lived under Clinton as a governor....Clinton was a better governor than Huckabee. Mike Bebee is (so far) a better governor than Huckabee. And I don't like Democrats...but Dixiecrats are a bit different from people like Hillary and Nancy Pelosi. FOr one - most of them are actually pro-2nd and pro-gun. As long as I (and others) have my guns, I hold the last keys to the future of the country.

More taxes - meh

Illegals - meh, they are never going home, get that out of your head, at best you can hope for is to not let anymore in.

Welfare State - meh the Great Society Called, it says thats when the welfare state started - so essentially it is no change in the status quo.

You willing to trade a new AWB for the future of the country?

I mean after all lets elect Rudy or Romney who will without a doubt sign a new permenant AWB with no grandfathering, but they will not raise taxes and will be tough on illegals.

I'm a singe issue voter and always have been.

Correct. Its imposible for Govt to make things better. Things can remain the same or get worse. Govt never makes things better. Private enterprise and citizens make thing better in spite of Govt.

It's a fact that Bill was a better governer for us than Mike Huckabee.

Hey, fuck the future of the country and its fiscal posture, as long as I've got my guns!
And people wonder why I think one issue voters are stupid.

There are many proud single issue voters on this site. (ETA: I'm not one of them)

Huckabee is far from ideal, but he's closer to ideal than Rudy or Romney.

Huckabee WILL raise taxes in order to pay for NEW social programs.

Bush spends like a drunken sailor. i doubt any republican candidate could be worse of spending than bush and his social programs.

I think Huckabee will be worse, but by your logic, if it's not worse than the status quo, dont worry about it, right?

Correct. Its imposible for Govt to make things better. Things can remain the same or get worse. Govt never makes things better. Private enterprise and citizens make thing better in spite of Govt.

It is impossible for the government to pass a balanced budget? It is impossible to cut taxes?

Both have been done numerous times.

It's thinking like yours that elects asshats that don't do it.

+1

A 'compassionate conservative' is nothing more than a republican that is one step from being a liberal.

I hate the term 'compassionate conservative' and think we need to do everything we can to get rid of it.

It is gonna suck hearing Hillary after being sworn in give her address in her nasally voice and tell us all how the Dems have a mandate since she got elected and the Dems got a stronger majority in Congress.

Yep sure is gonna suck.

My Battalion Chief is a HUGE pro-gunner, and is convinced Huck's our man.

As a law student, I would have expected more from you.

I don't care what he says, he won't do anything for gun rights, that's reality.
