Hey, fellas,
How about propping me up and reminding me about my beautiful wife, 3 great kids, etc?

I am scheduled to fly home on 9/30 but may be here until 10/17.

Thanks for reading,
Dawg

I feel your pain. I've been in Korea for a year now, about to leave in a few days.  The last 30 days or so are the worst, but trust me, it's all in your head; keep yourself busy and they will go by.

Lay off the bottle for the rest of the night, call and talk to momma and the kids, and go get some sleep. You'll feel better in the morning.

Hang tight you will be home and get to play with your kids.  Hell I'll drink two with ya right now.

Stay safe.

Thanks, all.

Just what I needed, some American voices who can understand my ranting.

operatorerror.  thanks for being nice.  Will hang in....

MrsGloftoe...  thank you.  Just feeling a little solitary right now.  I appreciate the kind words.

AbomininableNo_Man...  You know more than me the "homesickness".  You hang in there too, go hug those people you love ASAP.  I'll do as you say and call the family.  Be safe.

Hang in there man and lay off the booze, it doesn't help.  I know what is like since I 'm also in the middle of a one year assignment to Korea.

Do you have to type backwards when you are in Japan?  I know you have to type upside down when in Australia for the words to come out right.  When I email someone who is "mentally slow", I also type very slowly, because he is not a fast reader.

On the other hand, I've never been to Japan...or drunk in Tokyo....I'll have to try that sometime.

You don't work for one of those japanese companies in Austin do you?

If so, we might have to get together for some TEA.

How can you afford to get drunk in Tokyo? I was there in '87 and beers were $20 then.

Go pull some gags on the locals, that will cheer you up and give you something to talk about when you get home.

Say, you're not there to make Suntory whiskey commercials, are you?

Co-workers just left for 45 days in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Sydney.

Better them than me.

Best of luck to you. You'll be home before you know it and it will be WORTH IT.

Hang in there.

Go oveer to Ueno Park and check out the Pandas and then walk down to Ahkihabara through the market under the tracks.  Check out the Airsoft guns.  Go check out some of the multi-story CD stores.

For a big city, Tokyo really doesn't offer a lot for gai-jin to do.
