Wow. Bad timing. That's kinda like being the last guy killed in 'Nam.
What kind? |

I paid 50 bucks for a brick of 22lr. :( If you remain patient and persistent you can find it cheaper op. I've looked in pretty much every store within 70 miles of where I am...no one has 22lr except for one mom&pop out of the way place, and they have CCI 500 round bricks for $50. Literally, they are the only show in town. There is no "remain patient and persistent and find it cheaper"...it just isn't in stock anywhere. In a few months that might change, but if you actually shoot and use the stuff...no, being persistent and patient isn't really helpful. |

I was expecting you to say "slept with a fat chick". Everyone's slept with a fat chick. It's just a matter of degree. A fat chick is like the teacup ride at Disney world. It ain't the best ride in the park, but there's no line. |

Maybe you can slowly trade it for an upgrade. There was a guy that traded a paper clip for a house or some shit... look into it |

You're part the problem, kinda like the members here that go to Wal-Mart at 3am when a new shipment comes in.

If you're out again, just don't shoot it IMO. It's better to buy other calibers at normal prices, shoot them for fun, practice or training. I have about 4,000rds of 22lr and I've only shot 50rds. in the last two years. I'm basically treating them like larger calibers that would be hard to find. Just because it's still technically cheaper than other popular calibers doesn't mean it's worth the price. I shoot 9mm, 45acp, .223/5.56, etc for fun and practice, but .22lr has never been anything than a super cheap plinking round. If I feel like going that route, I grab my single shot BB gun and get the same recoil signature and fun. No way would I pay any more than $24 for a 550rd. box. Laugh at that price, but that's actually $10 over what it was a few years ago at every Walmart.

pshhh!!! Ill be surprised if .10 cents a round isn't the new normal when this drought is finished with. You could have done much worse

Meh. An extra twenty bucks to make yourself feel better.
Healthier than a street corner blow job. Hell, healthier than dinner at Chile's. |

If it makes you feel any better OP, I almost bought two bricks of Federal Automatch from PSA for ~34 a brick...but didn't because I thought it was too much money

I've got a 550 round brick. $150 for you, OP. (not really, just for the record)

I've shot about 2500 rounds of 40 cal in the last year and a half because it's been the most available ammo.... Back when pistol rounds where hard to come by I shot 22... Back when I could find cases of 223 for less than $300 I shot that... You shoot what is the easiest to find at a price you are willing to pay! YMMV

I've been paying $29.95 for 300 round "Choot Em" guy boxes of CCI Mini Mags.

I've always used the "spend it vs. earn it" criteria. Am I spending it faster than I earn it? Sure Disneyworld is expensive. But if I spend 14 hours there, does the cost break down so that I'm earning it faster than I'm spending it. I'd apply the same philosophy for any other recreational activity, including shooting. |

I have been getting Fed Bulk packs for $23 out the door. You just have to be there at the right time. It will last almost a full day now. You are just feeding the beast by buying that high.

If Walmart was selling ammo at the "market" price, it would be available, because the neckbeards wouldn't be able to flip it for a profit. ETA: Not a neckbeard, getting low on .22 LR myself... |
