I did it. I went go galyans and bought an airsoft gun. I have a Walther p99 in 9mm, so bought the p99 looking one for 20 bucks. 3-4 inch groups at 7 yards. I even think I have the pre-ban 14 round magazine. I do like it because it has the same feel/features as my p99 (minus the decocker). And I also traded a dozen or so shots with my brother and at 10 yards it leaves some nice sized welts on your back.

Hey now. I've still got .22's with an many evil 25 and 30 round magazines. A semi-auto shotgun (scary!) and even have magazines for my real gun that accept........oh no....... over 10 rounds!!!! And my girlfriend will only let me go through so many cats per year. I figure with my airsoft I can "play" with them much longer than with the .22, and WAY longer than the 12 guage.

I don't see the problem with owning an airsoft gun as long as you're not a poseur, commando wannabe.

I don't have one myself, as I would rather spend the $$$ on guns and gear. A buddy if mine has one though. Its a select fire P90 clone and he shoots it inside when he has to stay home with the baby.

I don't think its as gay a being a video game commando.

Airsoft does look cool. The ~~firearms~~ ahem Airarms Look just like their real cousins and would probably be a fine training tool as well as fun for kids and adults alike.

Airsoft guns have their place and it is not on the same par as real firearms. But you guys have to realise that just because someone says that its cool doesnt mean they are an airsoft troll.

I like airsoft and if I had the $$$ I would get in on it too. But I love my real weapons more and would take a real Mp5 any day of the weak over a faux imitation.

I've thought about getting airsoft guns to match my real ones, seems like it could make for decent practice around the house. Sure, the fat "airsoft commandos" are pretty stupid but just use them when you can't use the real thing (I think the wife would be a bit pissed if I started blowing holes in the walls).

I looked at getting one at the fun show (the gas powered kind, not the single shot) but when the guy fired one it smelled like farts..... gross, I'm not filling my house with that smell.
